After working on the paper limitations project, I decided to carry out on further. I decided to keep limitations of only paper and knife, but I allowed myself coloured paper and to get a more accurate image design it on the computer and then traces through onto the paper I was going to work on. Taking it beyond type I started to look at what was the most complex shapes and images that I can create while still using two colours. I tried a variety of methods for the shapes which I was creating,

whether to completely cut out the shapes from the paper or two keep it structurally intact. With the type images I wanted to cut away the negative space but is keeping a frame, this meant but hype had to stretch to the edges of the page and stay as one complete shape. With the pictures of objects I decided to cut away the positive area of the picture leaving the medicine area come the frame and then sliding this native area over the top of a coloured piece of paper to create the final image.

LIMITATIONS CONTINUED

These two images are the positive area rearranged on a separate page to show the details which I cut away.

Also experimenting on foods seemed an interesting idea, after all everyone does pumpkin carvings our Halloween, why not draw ships on apples. I was also interested to see what effect

carving away the scheme would have on the integrity of the Apple, it meant that started to rot faster than leaving the skin on because it was drying out. This led it start to shrink and dry out.
