Achieving top energy rating
from July/August 2023

The LCB700 Blue Flame oil fired combi boiler from Navien boasts an A+ energy rating when installed with a Navien Smart Plus controller or equivalent, producing a NOx emission rate as low as 57.2mg/kWh – said to be one of the lowest in the industry. The boiler ensures hot water is available on demand but won’t preheat the system until it has recognised the homeowner’s usage habits.
The LCB700 is also designed to use the store first until it is required to add heat – reducing fuel usage and delivering stable and consistently hot water to the customer’s desired temperature.
The boiler uses a two-stage burner and fine-tuning to optimise performance, reduce fuel consumption, and increase longevity.
In addition, the boiler can choose the closest output required for the property, for example, the 28kW unit can have an output of 21 or 28kW, dependent on the needs of the residents. This is also supported by the boiler’s blue flame burner which requires less fuel during the combustion process.
When installed with the Smart Plus controller, the LBC700 can achieve an A+ energy rating.
Smart Plus features a Smart Forecast tool that harnesses data from OpenWeather to respond intuitively to the current weather conditions to ensure the home remains at a comfortable temperature.
The controller also uses geofencing which allows users to switch the boiler on or off, purely based on their proximity to the premises, up to a radius of 5km, helping reduce hot water waiting times and preserving energy when occupants are away from home.
