Looking to build on the popularity of its ecoTEC plus boiler range, Vaillant has introduced an updated version which features an improved interface and combustion mechanism, as well as ‘smart home ready’ technology.
Since its launch in 2005, over 2.3m ecoTEC boilers have been installed in the UK, so the company has done all it can to futureproof its flagship model. New advances include IoniDectect, a self-adapting combustion control technology which constantly monitors gas quality, enabling the boiler to automatically adjust to wider bands of gas mixes, including a 20% hydrogen blend, and maximise efficient combustion. Most models are also LPG convertible without the need for a conversion kit. The new improved boiler also introduces Vaillant’s Connect gateway and a new Senso controls range which will enable the boiler to be integrated with voice control systems such as Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Home. The compact gateway box has been designed for simple ‘plug and play’ connection so that it can be tucked out of the way underneath the boiler without any need for the boiler case to be removed.
The new intuitive control interface has been designed with both the end-user and installer in mind. It mirrors the company’s Senso range of controls, allowing for easy first time installation and set up, with guided commissioning, set-up wizard and easy-to-follow navigation.
Despite the advances in technology, much of the boiler remains the same, with easy front access to components, curved front edges and the same size frame, flue options and pipe centres for straightforward replacement of existing models.
