Versatile push-fit system you can rely on

The WRAS approved Henco Pro-Fit fitting range has been designed to speed installation and deliver a secure, leak-free joint. The Pro-Fit system requires no press tools, calibration or pipe insert, meaning installers need simply cut the pipes and push them into the fitting.

The fitting has a helpful visual indicator to show the pipe is completely pushed home, while an integrated liner means external scratched pipework is no longer an issue. Another key benefit is that the EDPM O-Ring is actually already inside the fitting, thus minimising errors on installation as well as speeding up the process and reducing the risk of leaks.

With Henco Pro-Fit the installer is also guaranteed a non-demountable solution so the fitting cannot be easily or accidentally moved or loosened. The pipework is also detectable when installed, meaning that even if the fitting and the pipe is hidden behind a wall or under the floor, it can still be found to avoid accidentally drilling through or damaging the pipe.

Described as versatile and lightweight, Henco ProFit comes with transition couplers available in 16, 20 and 26mm and is compatible with a wide range of pipes that can easily connect to existing pipes of 15, 22 and 28mm Cu, Pex, PB or Pert. It has also been tested to ensure it can safely operate at 95° and a pressure of 10 bar.

“Henco Pro-Fit may be small, but it is mighty,” comments, Lee Kenney, regional sales manager for Henco UK and ROI. “With Henco Pro-Fit you are guaranteed a fitting which is fast to install, versatile, robust, secure and detectable. It has been designed to make the lives of installers easier and in turn give their customers complete peace of mind.”

The tundish is KIWA Reg4, WRAS approved, G3 and EN1717 compliant, and comes with the added peaceof-mind of a five year warranty. It offers 15mm x 22mm connections, supplied with compression ends, and complies with BS EN 1252-2 for use with R250 (half hard) copper tube.

Responding to requests from customers, Multipipe has launched a new range of pumpstations which enable multiple heat types to be brought together into a single point of distribution.

The pumpstations are said to be ideal where heating and hot water systems require both high and low supply temperatures, such as where a heating system is running at 80°C and underfloor heating only requires 40°C. Features of the pumps include pre-assembled pipework, A+ rated pumps, anti-syphon valves, combined temperature and isolation valves and thermal and acoustic insulation.

Mike Young, co-founder and MD at Multipipe, explains: “With the drive today towards more efficient lower temperature heat emitters, we are finding an increased need for multiple supply temperature and an increased demand for zoning of modern heating installations. Additionally, the need for higher temperature domestic hot water systems has created real complexity in design.”

There are three types of Multipipe pumpstations now available: fixed temperature control, variable temperature control and direct control.

Integrated controls with AI technology

A new network of integrated heating controls from Navien uses artificial intelligence to help homeowners maximise the efficiency of their heating system.

A new Dry Trap Tundish, which features a patented, anti-splash design and a transparent chamber, is the latest addition to the Altecnic product range.

Said to be ideal for installation with domestic central heating boilers, heat interface units (HIU), and hot water cylinders, the Altecnic Dry Trap Tundish is designed for the hot water discharge from pressure and temperature relief valves to pass safely. Unlike a conventional tundish, it allows system discharge to be piped directly into a drainpipe.

There is no need to install both a tundish and a dry trap because the internal stainless-steel spring-loaded disc mechanism prevents odours from escaping,

Altecnic MD Gary Perry comments: “When developing the Dry Trap Tundish, we wanted to create a product that was of the highest standard, whilst also considering the setback of space availability. We’re proud to be launching a unique, patented Dry Trap Tundish that is anti-splash, compact, and fully Building Regulations compliant. By combining two components, Altecnic’s Dry Trap Tundish gives installers the opportunity to save space and time on their domestic installs, without compromise.”

Based in Stafford, Altecnic is part of the Caleffi Group and produces a comprehensive range of plumbing products and hydronic solutions, including thermostatic mixing valves, underfloor heating, sealed systems, dirt and air separation, backflow prevention and vessels.

Navien’s ON AI is designed to work seamlessly with the company’s NCB ON range of Combi Crossover boilers, as well as Smart Plus and Smart Plus ON AI controllers, to provide homeowners with a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) report which presents an in-depth analysis of their heating and hot water usage.

The use of a mobile app provides easy access to Smart Diagnostics which enables homeowners to diagnose potential issues that may occur, quickly and accurately. Another tool is Smart Forecast which harnesses data from OpenWeather to respond intuitively to the current weather conditions to ensure the home remains at a comfortable temperature.

“We’ve been developing an industry-first technology that will help make users’ lives that little bit easier,”explains technical director Sean Keleher. “Technology is at the forefront of our daily lives and this revolutionary AI is the next step in helping homeowners utilise their heating system more efficiently while using less energy and ultimately cutting down energy bills.”
