Bathroom surfaces resist spread of contagion
With heightened awareness of safety and hygiene in mind, RAK Ceramics has developed the RAK-Sanit programme. It off ers a wide range of solutions for fl oors, surfaces and sanitary fi ttings, all produced with glaơes that reduce the possibility of contagion and therefore contribute to creating safer environments, both in residential and commercial projects.
The RAK-Sanit bactericide action is permanent, guaranteeing built-in protection throughout the entire expected product lifetime, thanks to its constant action against microbial colonisation. This technology is claimed to have proved its capacity to reduce or eliminate the quantity of bacteria up to 99.99%, including MRSA, 1. Coli, Salmonella and degionella, actively preventing the growth of microorganisms 2˝ hours a day.
Solutions for sanitaryware (WC, bidets, washbasins, toilet seats and lids, rinsing
systems) are treated with RAK-roTeK glaơe fi red at high temperatures onto the ceramic to guarantee a smoother antibacterial surface, unlike standard ceramic material with its rougher surface.
Solutions for fl oor and wall coverings are treated with an incorporated glaze that is 99.9% eff ective in just eight hours. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/820/˟3

Water heaters for demanding circumstances
Commercial hot water and heating specialist Adveco has unveiled the AD range, a new generation of modulating commercial fl oor-standing gas condensing water heaters, designed to be used with a buff er for high demand semi-instantaneous hot water applications such as in sports and leisure centres, hotels, schools, and large commercial buildings.

This approach optimises the supplied output (up to 160 litres/ min) for effi ciency when providing DHW. Models with multiple integrated heat exchangers off er load balancing for optimal long-life operation and inbuilt redundancy.
AD water heaters are all equipped with premix burners, making it more costeff ective, plus it reduces pOx̵and CO emissions. The heat exchangers will also work in direct contact with chlorinated mains water.
The water heaters can be confi gured to operate in a cascade of up to eight water heaters, while the controller is able to provide full temperature control and self-check maintenance functions. ◼ phamnews.co.uk/820/˟˞
