Obamacare to Help Those with Pre-existing Conditions Get Insurance

Obamacare to Help Those with Pre-existing Conditions Get Insurance The problem is that those that need medical insurance the most aren’t able to get it. A woman can find out she has breast cancer, immediately seek the help of insurance company, and be denied coverage because of her pre-existing condition. This woman will have incredible difficulty finding an insurance plan that will take her on. She can send in a thousand applications and be lucky if one decides to take her on. Most insurance companies see this case the same way, as a loss. The continued life of their business relies on signing people up for plans that will pay themselves off at a minimum. This means that the monthly payments make up for the payments the company has to put down for medical care. The company can at least break even when a client has already paid multiple monthly payments before coming to them with breast cancer needs. When someone tries to apply for financial aid without having paid monthly premiums, financially supporting that individual gets difficult because there’s no guarantee that they’ll see that money again. Thus, they are very wary about providing help with insurance for pre-existing conditions.

The Details of Obamacare The business model could fail, removing any chance of helping anyone, including their employees. Insurance companies and those with pre-existing conditions have butted heads over this issue for years. Obamacare has made a decision to solve this dispute. As of 2014, Obamacare will prohibit insurance companies from choosing not to cover those that are currently suffering from a disease that need immediate attention. Obamacare is set to fix the problem people with pre-existing conditions have with finding health insurance plans. The insurance providers will no longer be able to deny them care. To appease the insurance companies’ financial needs, Americans will be required to have a medical insurance plan coming January of 2014 as well. A requirement for everyone to pay for a medical insurance plan will add an extra boost of revenue for the insurance companies.

Not only will they be able to take on the sick ones, but they’ll add a few perfectly healthy accounts to their lists to help offset the extra costs they will take on. Hopefully with these two pieces of legislation, patients that need the care can get it, while insurance companies don’t fail financially.

A Ray of Hope for Patients with Pre-existing Conditions Those suffering from diseases that need immediate attention breathe a sigh of relief at this decision. For once, they can see a ray of sunshine in a very stormy sky. The implications of this one action alone can mean the end of impossible medical bills that could save their lives. That’s a thought they likely haven’t been able to hope for in a very long time. Insurance for pre-existing conditions is now well within their grasp. These effects don’t take effect until 2014 though, so the battle still continues to find a company that offers insurance for pre-existing conditions. Time will only tell how well this system will work. The increased measures should give hope for those currently suffering from pre-existing conditions without insurance.
