Lau Lifeng Belle Conductor
Lifeng was born in Singapore and her musical journey began with playing the Euphonium at the age of 14. In pursuit of her passions in music and communication studies, she first enrolled at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA, Singapore) and graduated with a Diploma in Music (Performance - Euphonium) in 2006, before continuing her studies with a Bachelor of Mass Communications (Public Relations & Journalism) from Murdoch University, Western Australia in 2009.
Thereafter, Lifeng served in the Singapore Police Force (SPF) as a Senior Officer for 13 years. She first served as an Investigation Officer at Central Police Division and then Team Leader at Public Transport Security Command over 5 years. Subsequently she was awarded a SPF scholarship to further her musical studies at the UK Royal Marines School of Music (RMSoM) in September 2013.
Under the tutelage of Malcolm Binney, Lifeng attained a pass with distinction in the DipABRSM (Music Direction) exam, an LRSM (Music Direction) diploma, and earned the Best Conductor Award in the RMSoM Bandmaster Course of 2015. Immediately after her stint with the UK Royal Marines, Lifeng completed her BMus (Hons) Degree with Plymouth University, UK.
Lifeng returned home to Singapore in August 2015 and formally began her time with the SPF Band as its Deputy Director of Music. On top of being a conductor for the band, she demonstrated the vision to lead the SPF Band in delivering world-class shows and theatrical productions on both local and international platforms. Since then, Lifeng has successfully spearheaded the SPF Band’s involvement in state events as show producer. These include the 37th ASEANOPOL conference in 2016 and the 70th Women in Policing Anniversary in 2019. Lifeng has also brought the SPF Band to participate in international military tattoos such as Nova Scotia Military Tattoo in 2018, Spasskaya Military International Tattoo in Moscow in 2016 and the World Police Band Concert (WPBC) series in Myanmar (2017) and Thailand (2018). In 2020, Lifeng was awarded the Efficiency Medal “Pingat Berkebolehan” National Day Award by the Singapore government.
Lifeng has been performing with Philharmonic Wind Orchestra for over 20 years and was recently appointed as its Assistant Conductor in September 2022.
Teacher Shauna NarratorShauna is Kindermusik and Kindermusik is Shauna. “Is today Teacher Shauna day?” children tend to ask. Every child loves their weekly Kindermusik day!
What is Kindermusik? It is the go-to for developmentally appropriate Early Years Music Education, for ages 0-6. Having entered the magical world of Kindermusik since 2006, Shauna found her commitment and passion for the programme. She strongly believes that children need music and music must be delivered to our children in a way that speaks to their hearts. Kindermusik is thus its educators’ way of transforming learning and bringing music education to a whole new level.
Apart from attaining a Masters in Early Childhood Education, Shauna is also well versed in the Electronic Organ (Dip. with High Honours), and plays the piano, guitar, and erhu, along with a smattering of violin, cello and various ethnic instruments. Kindermusik’s families are wowed and inspired every time they step into the studio.
Shauna and her team of passionate and dedicated Kindermusik educators are excited to be a part of bringing live orchestra music experiences one step closer to our children.
Kristen is an illustrator and calligrapher whose (part-time) career as an artist first began with a goal to “calligraph her own wedding invites”. But as word got around, she began receiving more requests for commission work, and is now known for her little people series and posters for all seasons of life.
She has spent the last 8 years honing her skills and developing versatility in producing art to suit various styles. Inevitably, her posters also reflect the season of life that she goes through. Her most recent venture involves illustrating repeated patterns for fabrics in Bao & Berry Fabrics.
Kristen has a heart for projects that are meaningful. As a full-time healthcare professional, she actively illustrates for public health initiatives (including SingHealth), as well as Fertility Support SG.
She is also a mother to two beautiful girls, who appear to have adopted both her love for music and art.
Her works can be found on Kristenkiong.com and on instagram under @kristenkiong. She also works closely with Wild Olive Branch and decorates their cakes.

Frozen
Making Today a Perfect Day, For the First Time in Forever, Do You Want to Build a Snowman, Let It Go
Kristen-Anderson Lopez and Robert Lopez
Arranged by Kazuhiro Morita
Frozen is a medley of favourites from the 2013 Disney animated film that took the world by storm. Nearly every child (and many an adult) knows the story of Princess Anna, who teams up with an iceman, his reindeer, and a snowman to find her estranged sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped their kingdom in eternal winter. Many of us know the songs by heart, so let it go and let’s sing along!
Do-Re-Mi
From "The Sound of Music"
Richard Rodgers
Arranged by Takashi Hoshide
Do-Re-Mi is a classic song from the musical "The Sound of Music", composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It teaches the solfège system, which is used to refer to musical scales and intervals, in a fun and engaging way using everyday examples like "doe, a deer, a female deer" for "do" and "tea, a drink with jam and bread" for "ti".
The chorus of the song encourages listeners to sing along with Maria, repeating the solfège syllables in order. The melody is catchy and easy to follow, making it a fun and engaging song for audiences of all ages. So yes, do join in “if you know the words to sing”!
In “The Sound of Music”, Do-Re-Mi marks a memorable moment for Maria and the von Trapp children in the musical as they learn to sing together as a family. It is a heartwarming scene that showcases the power of music to bring people together, much like how we’re all gathered here today at the Victoria Concert Hall!
