PPSCNY

Professional Photographer's Society of Central New York, Inc. ( PPSCNY) or as we like to call ourselves, welcomes you! Our ogranization is for any professional or ‘budding professional’ pursuing fruther education, bettering their business practices and mastering their photogrpahy craft! We find pride in the strong sense of COMMINITY and family within our organization!

Our purpose is to UNITE photographers from Central New York, stay current with trends, teach and share best business practices, and latest techniques in the photographic industry. We generally meet on the 2nd Monday of every month in Liverpool, New York. We kick off our meetings with a cocktail/networking half hour, dinner, and then diving head first into scheduled educational programs or live shoot outs off site.

We are an organization that is comprised of wedding, studio portrait, senior, landscape, and fine art photographers.

Through presentations by experienced professionals, combined with collective learning, we continue to improve and grow in membership and as a community. We are also now proud to say we are an affiliate of PPA, Professional Photographers of America!

What is PPSCNY?

Professional Photographers of Central New York, also known as PPSCNY is a non-profit, member based organization which includes photographers all over the central region of New York State. Our organization works closely with photographic educators from all over the country to learn the latest trends, discuss business practices and latest techniques in the photography industry.

Where & When

We meet on the 2nd Monday each month in Liverpool, NY OR off site for live shoot outs! There are a few times through the year where a different meeting location is required based on the educational meeting that is planned for that specific month.

Hello!!

We are a lively, social, passionate, friendly, non-competitive group of photographers who are constantly looking for ways to fine tune our craft, and help one another in the process! We love working together and learning together. When I joined they quickly took me in and made me feel like part of the family. I can not BELIEVE how much I have grown in the past few years as a businesswoman and creative, nearly tripling the size of my business!

We strive to inspire you to be the best you can be and to really push yourself to learn new things, experiment with new techniques and maybe even earn a little more income! You will certainly make some new friends as well :)

We welcome speakers from within the group, within the state and even sought-after national speakers covering topics ranging from weddings, babies, families, lighting, seniors, marketing, landscapes, Photoshop and much much more!

I could go on and on but the best thing to do is to JOIN US! Attend a meeting as a guest (for free!) and interact with us on Facebook to get an idea of what we are all about. Check out the speaker schedule to see what’s coming up! Talk to our members, ask questions, and be a part of our Facebook group. As much as I love owning my own business and working for myself I always felt there something missing, that something was this wonderful group of supportive, warm, helpful professionals to keep me company, understand me, and motivate me! It’s a decision I’ll never regret!!!

Code of Ethics

The following is hereby adopted as the Code of Ethics of the Professional Photographers Society of Central New York, Inc.

The practice of photography, both as a science and an art, is worthy of the very best thought and endeavor of all who enter it as a vocation. Our colleague photographer’s name and reputation shall be as sacred to us as our own.

No untrue or misleading statement shall be made in any way, in any form of business promotion.

It shall be our duty to impart freely of our knowledge, individually and as an organization, so that the professional and his or her work may be raised to higher standards.

Professionally, we shall strive to serve the public to the best of our ability. We shall abide by and observe all the rules and laws as put forth by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of the US Government concerning the photographic industry.
