THE PICE Iloilo Chapter organized a two-in-one event to welcome new members of the organization and to recognize civil engineering graduates on July 30, 2022 at Smallville 21 Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Nineteen new members with most of them recently passing the May 2022 Licensure Examination for Civil Engineers were formally inducted into the PICE Iloilo Chapter.

They were inducted by Immediate Past President and now Miagao, Iloilo Municipal Mayor Oscar “Richard” S.Garin, Jr., who was the Guest of Honor of the event.
The new members also underwent the ceremonial capping which symbolized their official entry into the profession of civil engineering and the ceremonial pinning which symbolized their membership in the PICE and to fully enjoy all its rights and privileges as member.
PICE Iloilo Chapter President Mary Earl Daryl Grio shared her piece on the symbolism of the caps during the ceremony and emphasized the new roles and responsibilities that each new engineer should carry.
Meanwhile, exemplary BS Civil Engineering graduates were recognized and were given medals and certificates pursuant to the awarding criteria set forth by the PICE Iloilo Chapter.
These awards include the Leadership Award conferred to presidents of student chapters including the federated union of chapters, PICE Iloilo Student Affiliates; and the Academic Award conferred to honor graduates duly endorsed by their respective academic institutions.
The awarding of graduates was led by Engr. Neil Edwin Escalona, Auditor of the PICE Iloilo Chapter with Engr. Grio handing in the medals and certificates to the awardees.
The induction of new members and awarding of exemplary civil engineering graduates was organized by the PICE Iloilo Chapter with the generous support of Boysen Paints Philippines. (RCM/PICE Iloilo)
