Former PICE Iloilo Chapter prexy is new Miagao mayor
IMMEDIATE Past President Engr. Oscar “Richard” Garin was elected as mayor of the municipality of Miagao in Iloilo Province during the recent general election on May 9, 2022.
He is best remembered for having served as congressman for two terms or six consecutive years of the 1st District of Iloilo Province, composed of seven municipalities namely, Oton, Tigbauan, Tubungan, Igbaras, Miag-ao, San Joaquin and Guimbal.

Engr. Garin then served as President of PICE Iloilo Chapter in 2020 and continued on to serve in the same position in 2021 while the organization’s vision was challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite this, he still managed to steer the organization’s visibility and positive impact to the community by holding several activities to benefit engineers affected by the pandemic and the general public.
As immediate past president of the chapter, he will still provide guidance to the PICE Iloilo Chapter to ensure that the goals and objectives of the organization are met in accordance with its core values and fundamental canons.
The PICE Iloilo Chapter graced the inauguration of Engr. and now Miagao Mayor Garin last July 8, 2022. Among them were Engr. Mary Earl Daryl Grio (President), Engr. Reynaldo Asuncion(VP-Private), Engr. Doris Mae Peñaredondo (Treasurer), Engr. Carlo John Leysa (Director), Engr. Vince Michael Bangoy (Director) and Ms. Katherine Menicable (Administrative Officer).
