Happy February everyone!
Time sure flies. It still feels like the new year has just begun. I hope everyone is keeping up with their New Year’s resolutions. January was definitely a service filled month, and we were able to hold a successful Chipotle fundraiser and bonding thanks to you! There are a lot of things to look forward to in February, for example, huge events like the Tet Festival and presidential applications. It’s time to be excited and full of curiosity because February is the month where we will find out who our next Key Club president is for the 2017-2018 term! With only a few more months left in this term, I hope everyone continues to do as much service as they can. Remember that service never sleeps! Introducing…
MEGAN LUONG Hello Superheroes! My name is Megan Luong, and I’m so excited to serve as your 2017-2018 Key Club President! I’ve served in Key Club for two years now, and my journey has been pretty unconventional! In my sophomore year, I was elected as a project director, but eventually promoted to treasurer! In my junior year, I served as activities coordinator. Over these past few years, I’ve grown so much as a person-I learned how to be a leader, found a stronger voice and became more outgoing! I’ve learned so much in these past few years, and I can’t wait to share all of what I’ve learned! In this new term, I’m hoping to provide more opportunities for all members to learn and grow, as well as creating a more spirited atmosphere for Key Club! One of my favorite parts of Key Club was how it allowed me to grow as a person, and find a family where I was accepted for me! This is something I want to continue to maintain as we move forward into this new term. Some fun facts about me are that I absolutely despise condiments, have a super tiny bladder, and I’m really clumsy! I love watching cooking shows like Food Network and Masterchef, but I’m also a huge sucker for anything related to cheesy romance. On my free time, I teach abacus, a form of ancient mental math! I’m honored to be able to work with all of you in this upcoming term, and I can’t wait to see what we’re going to accomplish in the future! Don’t be intimidated by my eyebrows-I promise I’m not that scary! Feel free to come talk to me anytime, I love meeting you guys! Let’s make this next term key-mazing!
