note from treasurer member of the month calendar event recaps announcements club goals follow us letters from media directors contacts

NOTE FROM Happy August, superheroes! I can't believe summer has flown by and we're about to start school again already. I'm really proud of everyone for continuing to work hard in the summer to get us closer and closer to reaching our goals and keeping our club successful despite the current situation, so thank you! With school restarting, I hope your passion to serve others and your community does not die down. We are all working hard to continue providing you all with events that you can sign up for in order to gain your hours. In fact, the activities spreadsheet is constantly being updated and is currently full of many events that you can sign up for today! We have a variety of events, ranging from card making to playing math games online. They are all simple and can be done safely from your own home, so you can continue to make an impact from anywhere at any time! With what is going on around the world today and with the start of a strange new school year, I also encourage everyone to reach out and stay connected. It might feel lonely and isolating being at home all day, so let's take advantage of the technology around us to keep in contact. I'm always one message away if you ever need to talk about anything, whether it be about school, Key Club, or even just to talk and rant. I am confident in our club that we can continue to persevere through this pandemic but it's all up to you to keep us going as a club - let's keep going, superheroes! :) Yours in service,

Member of the Month

Jenny Lam In these past few months during quarantine, Jenny Lam has been participating in nearly all of our at home service events! Jenny constantly goes the extra mile in being a Key Clubber and her dedication is truly admirable. She continues to commit to these events in any way she can and always puts time into our club. Jenny is also incredibly gifted and artistically talented, and seeing her work during this quarantine period where we have to use our creative abilities always puts a smile on our faces đ&#x;™‚ We loved seeing her at Color a Smile, With a Thousand Cranes, and we look forward to seeing her at our future events as well! Thank you for being such a kind and enthusiastic member, Jenny!

I had the pleasure of participating in the service activity, With a Thousand Cranes, this month. Definitely being stuck under quarantine has taught me a few things about making meaningful contributions to the world. It’s one thing to make origami for fun. It’s entirely another thing to make it for a purpose. After reading up on the history and mission behind With a Thousand Cranes, it made me feel connected to my Japanese roots and just genuinely happy that these cranes would go to people in need, like children in hospitals. Even if they are small cranes that we are delivering, I’m really glad that these birds will have a sentimental value to whoever it is given to and hopefully, spread luck and happiness to the receiver as well. This event was an opportune time for me to relax and just appreciate an activity I enjoyed doing since I was younger. I hope to participate in even more community activities like these in the future!

Thank you for reading!!

Hey y’all. The lockdown still isn’t over, but you know what isn’t over? Going to service events! If you look at our hour count, you can see that it has skyrocketed compared to the last two months. You can thank all of the officers for persevering and doing their best to find events for y’all. If you’re reading this and have yet to attend one, never fear as there are plenty more to come! So you can see that this month’s theme is not really something you’d see everyday. It’s revolved around drinks and the colors you see in a classic cafe. You can even see the Key Cafe that I made in the previous page. It’s not a theme you see every day but hey I think it looks pretty neat. Hopefully you guys think so too.

Hi Superheroes!! As Eric mentioned, I am so proud to see the increase in hour count, which I would like to appreciate the efforts of members and officers :)) There are so many unique events that I would have never imagined be possible and would definitely encourage you to keep volunteering! I know that school is approaching quite soon, so try to get your hours in before you become more busy! However, it’s important that we can continue to serve even during the school year. Whether it may be an hour or two, try your best to allocate some time for you to attend service events!! Being on the topic of school, I wish you the best for the new school year and I know that you’ll do well!
