from the

President

Happy January Iron Heroes,

Can you believe we only have THREE MONTHS left in the term? Time has truly flown by, but this time could not have been happier or more well spent. These next few months are going to bring so many exciting surprises, including electing our new president and 2018-2019 board, and I can’t wait to see who they will be! However, this term is not yet over (and I am still relevant!) so let’s keep pushing forward! We are less

than 1000 HOURS away from achieving 9000+ hours, and less than $300 away from completing our MNT goals, and completing our goals for the term. I believe that we can do this, but only with YOUR help! Remember to help us achieve these goals by attending events and fundraisers so we can reach those goals!

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these last few months, especially for attending our fundraisers and particularly making our first joint charity dinner such a huge success! Did you know that we had over 120 Key Clubbers attend this event? The success was mind-blowing!I loved being able to see all your smiling faces, and I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves immensely.

So many exciting adventures are ahead, so remember to BEE on a lookout for exciting events and collaborations! (Hint hint wink wink) Take the opportunity for once in a lifetime experiences, especially to sign up for District Convention and Member in Charge for more leadership opportunities!

We’re counting down the time before I retire, and before we part ways, so let’s make these next few months count! I can’t wait to see what these months will bring, because every day is an adventure when I’m with the members of Key Club.

Flying with Service, Megan Luong President 2017-2018

from the

Media Director Hey there heroes! Welcome to January! This month is quite a busy one with the Charity Dinner and various other events. I hope that all of you find the energy to make this month the best one yet! Thank you to everyone who came out to our charity dinner last week! It was a great success because of you guys. With January comes many new things including the upcoming election of our new lieutenant governor! When he/she is elected, please congratulate them for their hard work. I’m sure they would appreciate it immensely. We’re almost done with our goals. Let’s make one fine push to make this term THE best term so far. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me through email or Facebook. I am always happy to reply Stephanie Zhu Media Director 2017-2018

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

INTRODUCING

Kirsten Takeshima

Kirsten is an extremely dedicated Key Clubber who constantly seeks to grow her leadership opportunity. We have recently implemented a Member In Charge system at our club, where members receive the opportunity to co-lead events with officers and help take sign ins. Kirsten was one of our first MICs at Santa Run, and did a great job, always reaching out to new people radiating a positive attitude. Her inclusiveness, positivity and passion for service make her a great nominee for Member of the Month!

LosT in Wo Thank you for coming out to our first ever collaboration charity dinner with IHS and MHS! On January 20th, over 120 attendees gathered at our very own L-Building for a night of food and performances. Although it wasn’t without mistakes , the charity dinner was a success. We could not have done it without all of the Key Club members who came out on a Saturday night to support us.
