Statement

My candidacy isn’t about me. It’s about America and Americans, Washington and Washingtonians--people like you and me who live here, and love it here.

Most of us sense America’s headed the wrong direction. Crime and homelessness are surging. Public safety’s threatened. Businesses are suffering. Inflation is the highest in 40 years. We all feel pain at the grocery store and gas pump. Biden’s administration isn’t solving the problem--it is the problem. Congress isn’t doing its job.

2022 is pivotal. I’m fighting for this District, to defend what we all love: Strong Families, Strong Communities, Strong Country. That means: Restoring public safety by supporting our police and military; Rebuilding our economy by lowering taxes and debt; Eradicating homelessness; Protecting America’s sovereignty and our workers’ livelihoods; Preserving Constitutional freedoms; and Reclaiming parental authority over their children’s education.

I’m not a career politician and never intended to be. I was asked to run, for what others saw in me: commonsense leadership with a moral compass, combined with a skillset and professional background that delivers what’s needed now: a gift for sizing up problems, communicating effectively, and engaging productively to get things done right, and get the right things done.

The Democrats’ agenda is corrosive from within. It’s rewarded destructive behaviors, and spawned crushing debt. House Democrats are off course, and our current Representative votes in lockstep with the worst of them, as if we were Seattle. (We’re not). The House has been rife with dirty tricks, but it stops now.

I’m a Mom on a Mission to Clean Up The House in D.C. As the only endorsed Republican candidate in this race, (having earned the unprecedented early endorsement of the Washington State and County Republican Parties, current and former legislators, community, military, and law enforcement leaders), I ask for your vote.

Statement

Right now more than ever we need to come together, united for a brighter future. It is important that we take care of those in need while preserving the personal freedoms and rights upon which this country was founded.

Last year I lost my business and most of my belongings, and though it was a very difficult time, it taught me a great deal about the true state of the economy, and the importance of identifying and addressing financial problems as early as possible. In my time of need, others were there to help me with my basic needs, and I want to pay that forward.

We must solve the many challenges ahead, and I believe we need new leaders who think differently and without compromise. We need a plan to orchestrate a digital overhaul of our government, and my vision includes the ability to route funding and assistance where we need it most, in real time.

I also have a plan to implement a system that will identify financial fraud well before it affects our economy. These systems will also help with better climate modeling, farm production, energy sourcing, wildfire prevention, and many other important factors, all directly affecting our quality of life.

All funds saved will be prioritized for helping those who need it most which will improve our communities while reducing taxes. If elected, I will commit to holding zero investments of any kind, and I will make all of my personal financial information public. I will also refuse to accept campaign contributions from any corporate or foreign interests.

It is time we shift our approach to the problems we currently face, and make decisions for the good of everyone in this great country. It is time for us to build the Smart Government of the future.

Statement

You sent me to Congress because you knew I would advocate for you the same way I stood up for children and families for over 20 years as a pediatrician. I promised to be an independent and effective voice for our district, someone willing to work with both parties to deliver real results that matter. I’ve helped pass laws to bring down costs for working families, to get Veterans the quality healthcare they deserve, and to support training and resources for local police because everyone deserves to feel safe in our community.

As the only pediatrician in Congress, I’ve helped pass laws to actually bring down the cost of lifesaving prescription drugs, like insulin. I will work to make healthcare and other everyday costs more affordable for middle class families. As a doctor, I will always fight to protect a woman’s right to choose and to keep politicians out of private decisions between a woman and her doctor.

I am the only member of Congress from the Pacific Northwest on the Agriculture Committee. I have worked with both parties on behalf of our farming communities to support trade, encourage sustainable agriculture, advocate for commonsense immigration reform, and fix supply chain disruptions so farmers can get their goods to market. I will continue to champion responsible stewardship of our cherished public lands, clean air, and water.

With nearly 100 town halls, I’ve listened, I’ve learned, and I’ve gone to bat for you in Congress. It is an honor to serve you and I humbly ask for your vote.

Endorsements: League of Conservation Voters, Washington State Labor Council, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Alliance for Gun Responsibility, and mayors across the district, including Auburn Mayor Backus, Issaquah Mayor Pauly, and North Bend Mayor McFarland.

Statement

Are you better off today than you were four years ago when the incumbent was first elected to Congress?

I am running because I believe our elected leaders in Washington D.C. have put our nation on the wrong track, and I know from experience that we can do better. I am concerned about the economy and the skyrocketing cost of living, including the price of gas, groceries, and services. A big reason for these price increases comes from unchecked federal spending by Congress.

On the King County Council, I have been a budget hawk and have opposed more new taxes than any other Councilmember. I believe that we must be efficient with your tax dollars by prioritizing government services. I present a clear contrast with the incumbent, who has voted 100% of the time with President Biden’s agenda and increased our national debt by roughly $10 trillion dollars – a 50% increase of the national debt in just four short years.

We’re also seeing a startling rise in violent crime. In 2001, I was appointed by the President of the United States to lead Project Safe Neighborhoods, the U.S. Department of Justice’s national effort to fight violent crime. I am proud that under my leadership we reduced crime. Unfortunately, today crime is surging once again. If elected to Congress, I will use my experience as a federal prosecutor and expert in criminal justice policy to take violent criminals off our streets and support our law enforcement officers.

As your Representative, I will work to implement my “Roadmap for Our Recovery,” which will focus on cutting inflation, lowering prices, creating energy independence, securing our borders, assisting with behavioral health disorders, protecting our environment, and fighting crime.

I ask for your vote to bring civility, experience, and independent leadership back to Congress.

Statement

I’m running for Congress because we all deserve a better, safer, Washington to raise our families in. As a father of 4 young children, Christian, business owner, former White House staffer, and prosecutor, I have a uniquely qualified perspective on the problems plaguing our state. My roots run deep in Washington---I was born and raised here. My family has lived here for 165 years. We own a 3rd generation, manufacturing company, employing over 600 people, making products in the USA which bring clean water to people globally.

Washington is heading in the wrong direction. Enabling policies and our crisis at the border have led to skyrocketing crime, homelessness, and drug abuse. Our state desperately needs a leader to tackle these issues.

We need to give parents back their voices in their children’s education. We need to lower inflation so families can pay bills and fill their gas tanks. We need to ensure free, fair elections and a strong national defense which starts with energy independence.

Together we will reign in federal spending, Make Crime Illegal Again, take back our streets and parks, and restore hope for everyday Americans. I’m a hard worker who will never stop fighting for Washington families—it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work!

I’m proudly endorsed by the Pierce and Snohomish County Republican Parties, Seattle Police Officers Guild, WA Young Republicans, Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney and the Pierce County Sheriff, former WA Treasurer Duane Davidson, former WA Attorney General, Senators Phil Fortunato and Jim McCune, Representatives Carolyn Eslick and Robert Sutherland, King County Councilwoman Kathy Lambert, Pierce County Councilwoman Amy Cruver, First Responders, Health Care Professionals, Radio Talk Show Hosts, Businesses, Teachers, Veterans and many others.

Washington deserves a Congressman who’ll fight for them---because Washington is worth fighting for!

Statement

10 million Americans are unemployed today because of our trade policies. That is what a Trillion-dollar Trade Deficit means.

NAFTA is a failure. The WTO is a failure. US Trade Policy is a failure. The Social Problems caused by these failures are unacceptable. When 10 million Americans lose their jobs, that means that 10 million American families are affected. We are talking about people who do not have enough money to buy a house; people who do not have enough money to send their children to college; and people who are stressed out all the time because they can’t pay their bills. When a foreign government gives subsidies to its airplane industry, or when a country which is selling thousands of cars over here refuses to allow farm products to be sold over there, ordinary Americans suffer.

The larger issue here is that certain governments, like China and Germany, are determined to maintain a permanent Trade Surplus against the US. During the Cold War, the US government decided that supporting our allies was important enough that losing a few American jobs was worth it. For this reason, we entered into trade deals with West Germany, South Korea, and Taiwan which were very beneficial to them. The Cold War ended in the 1980s, but these trade agreements are still chugging along. We have an entire generation of bureaucrats in Washington who have never questioned this, because they have never known anything different.

The word “Trade” means “We buy stuff from you, and you buy stuff from us.” What we have in America today is not any kind of “Trade”. It is a one-way street, and ordinary citizens of this country are paying the price. We need to tear down the existing system of International Trade, and create an entirely new system.

Statement

As we reach the quarter mark of the 21st century 60% to 70% of the eligible population does not even vote and those of us that do are told to pick between one of two factions that have been in power for over 160 years.

I want to change this because when I think about our future I see more of us participating and enjoying existence. It is time to put limits on our elected officials. Let term limits be a mark in our history of when we became pioneers again.

As your U.S. Representative my main focus will be passing term limit legislation.

Statement

The people of Washington need a representative that is fighting for them, regardless of who they voted for, or what party they belong to. A representative that will work with their fellow lawmakers instead of against them.

I am running for Congress to be your voice, your advocate for change in how America can realize the promise laid out in the founding of this nation of “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

A proud lifelong resident of Washington State, I grew up living in both Seattle and Wenatchee, splitting my time between each every year, which gives me a unique perspective on life in these vastly different communities.

I am here to help this country get back on track: ending policies that benefit the rich while harming the middle class, supporting scientists seeking solutions to address the impacts of climate change, and guaranteeing the civil rights of all Americans by ensuring the law applies equally to everyone.

Our children deserve to live in a world free from the threat of coercion and violence. We as a nation have a shared responsibility to voluntarily help those who cannot help themselves. We need effective support for non-profits and programs that provide real solutions to address homelessness, provide comprehensive mental health and addiction support as well as ensure that no one is left hungry due to situations beyond their control.

My skills in organizing people from different communities and backgrounds, with disparate, potentially conflicting ideologies can create a collaborative environment in Congress where the focus is on creating solutions that provide benefit to all Americans. Looking at the history of this country and our government, the most successful progress has always come from bipartisan efforts. This is the only way that we will succeed as a nation.

Ranked choice voting to defend democracy; ending unconstitutionally illegal, abusive judiciary case “laws” and “orders”; government and businesses serving the people (not the reverse); quality schools; fair free global trade; not ending analog television prematurely; clean green renewable energy sources; supporting our troops’ economic and financial futures; not starting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan or bank bailout; immigration law enforcement focused on abusive employers; progressive tax system for higher incomes; universal healthcare; ProLife (exceptions: rape, incest, significant health risk); UN-focused world unity are among my commitments

Statement

Correct governing is a manual system without automatic safeguards making it vulnerable to cheaters. Government office needs a watchful, strong, honest, dedicated person. I am that person.

Ranked choice voting preserves the peoples’ voices which is why we need it everywhere. Not having ranked choice voting allows election thieves to silence peoples’ voices which is why they don’t allow it everywhere.

Ranked choice voting is necessary to defend our elections because it protects against election thieves splitting an opponent’s votes. It means voters rank election candidates in the voter’s preferred order. If one candidate has more than half the votes after each voter’s first ranked choice is counted, then that candidate would be the winner. However, if no one has a majority at that point, letting the person with the most votes but less than a majority steal the election is avoidable and, therefore, ridiculous. With ranked choice voting everyone’s additional ranked choices are added to the count until someone has a majority. After all the ranks are added, if no one has a majority, only then will the nonmajority highest vote getter win.

Judiciary “opinions” changing same government level legislative or executive actions without, at least, legislative panel approval is insubordinate (towards legislature [judiciary’s superior]} unconstitutionally illegal wrong.

Our elections are always under attack from rightwing and leftwing ideological extremists, foreign and domestic. These extremists lie to destroy America’s democracy and silence America’s voices. Both extremist wings tell misleading slogan lies to cover up their double standards.

Top 2 primary is a useful step in the correct governing direction. Ranked choice voting is an even more important step. A Washington previous ranked choice voting system was mistakenly ended instead of expanded. Mail in balloting emphasizes Election Day should be the last day to vote, not the only day.

Statement

Even more than when I ran to represent the 8th District four years ago, both of our major parties have continued to build their strength through dividing the country. I believe that our shortest path to improving how we govern ourselves is break up the duopoly that has dominated our political discourse for too long.

In short, I am a fed-up moderate, who will be willing to sacrifice and to compromise to bridge divides. I will work with all of us to rediscover where our unity lies, for we will always be stronger together than we can ever be apart. And where that common ground ends, we need to find ways to give each other the freedom to be our best selves on the path that we choose.

We have always been a nation of many backgrounds, viewpoints, and deeply held beliefs. I believe that this has been our greatest strength, that we have historically found ways to embrace those differences and find what we hold in common. As a country, we have not always been on the path of what is righteous and true, but we have changed course many times toward that goal. It is time to make such a turn again, together.

Please reach out and let me know if you feel the same, and if you feel differently, I would love to know where you think we diverge. I think we all see some of the puzzle but need to be open to others if we are to ever be able to put together the whole picture. As your Representative, I am committed to bringing these currently disparate pieces together to work toward our common goals and an optimistic future.

Statement

Husband. Father. Veteran.

I spent my life believing in the American Dream. Growing up in a working-class family as the son of a pastor father and janitor mother, I got a firsthand lesson on the importance of hard work. Thanks to my grandfather, a World War II veteran who co-signed my student loans, I became the first person in my family to graduate college. After graduation, I met a wounded soldier at the height of the Iraq War who inspired me to enlist in the military to serve my country.

During my seven years in the military, I attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army, served in the elite Ranger Regiment, and deployed on four combat tours in Afghanistan. With a deep sense of patriotism and sense of service to others, I learned that the best leaders are servants to those they are entrusted to lead. During my time serving our country, I was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s badge, Army Commendation Medal, and two Bronze Stars.

After serving my country as an Army Ranger, I was accepted into Business School, recruited into the private sector, and became a director in the healthcare and technology industries. Most recently, I co-founded Task Force Argo, a volunteer group formed following the abrupt withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan that left thousands stranded behind enemy lines. We helped over 2,500 Americans and Afghan Allies flee an oppressive regime.

I’m running for Congress because we need more servant leaders. Full Democrat control of the federal government has resulted in skyrocketing inflation, crime, and energy prices. We are at a crossroads between an extreme ideology and a balanced approach to governance. I will fight in Congress for an America where we all have the right to self-determine and pursue our American Dream.
