Statement

As a retired Battalion Chief, now a school board member, I’ve dedicated my life to serving our community. Pierce County is where I have raised my family. I want to assure that our children and grandchildren will have a safe place to grow up and prosper. We owe that to them.

Crime is rapidly increasing, and families do not feel safe doing everyday activities. As a first responder for over 35 years, I have worked shoulder to shoulder with law enforcement and heard their requests for additional resources to handle the mental health, addiction, and homeless issues. Instead, those in power removed their abilities to pursue criminals and handcuffed our judicial system. I have the abilities to change that.

I’ll work to restore common sense to our system where we can treat mental health and addiction problems that are the major cause of our homeless problem.

I see the potential that Pierce County has to offer families, but the skyrocketing cost of living is driving people out of their homes. We must work locally to control the rising costs and taxes to make this county more affordable for all of us. WestforWA.com
