2nd Legislative District ...................................... 55

Edward Meer

States No Party Preference

(513) 256-1697 Ed4WA2@yahoo.com

Elected Experience

None. I’m running as an Independent, but I do have a conservative-ish view. I want to focus more on what the people need and less on what the parties want.

Other Professional Experience

I’m a Printing Press Operator, but in the last few years I have moved into the office side of things before coming to WA.

Education

I went to both Cincinnati State and the University of Cincinnati with a focus on business, Printing, and logistics.

Community Service

I’m trying to get something set up where I teach printing to graffiti artist to give them an alternative to vandalism and a chance at a future.

Statement

Since I’ve been here all I’ve heard about is how the state is 1020 years behind in many areas. This is unacceptable. On top of that we are understaffed everywhere in the government. Where I come from, we don’t put up with stuff like that. One way or the other you fix the issues and you don’t stop till things happen. No matter how unpleasant it might be for me or if it needs to be something I do off the clock, I will come up with a plan and make it happen.

Because that’s what you all deserve.

JT Wilcox was first elected to the State House in 2010, and today he is the House Republican Leader.

Statement

Public safety, balanced budgets, and holding the government accountable are JT Wilcox’s top priorities. Previously, he was endorsed by the Farm Bureau and rated A+ by the NRA. As our local Representative, and the statewide leader for the House Republicans, JT has always been a defender of “small town Washington,” a vitally important role in today’s political climate. As JT says, “Bad ideas that start in Seattle rarely stay in Seattle.”

JT and his wife Kathy, a recently retired public school teacher, have three grown children and one grandchild. They live in Roy.

Elected Experience

Kelly Chambers has been our Representative for four years, and is the ranking Republican member of the House College and Workforce Development Committee, the assistant ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee, and a member of the House Commerce and Gaming Committee.

Statement

Kelly Chambers first ran for the legislature promising to stand up for local schools, local jobs, and our local quality of life. She’s kept those promises, and today she’s our best choice for State Representative. Kelly also made public safety, more housing, and supporting state agri-business a priority in this last session. She opposed legislation that made gas more expensive, and handcuffed law enforcement.

Kelly and her husband Jeff live in Puyallup, have three grown children, and just welcomed their first grandchild to the family. They attend church locally, enjoy wine tastings, live concerts, and the Washington State Fair.

Executive Board Member for the Puyallup Education Association

Community Service

From a bi-partisan family of nurses, teachers, veterans, and police officers, service is a family value. I’ve worked with a young adult group, raised money to support a women’s shelter, youth mission trips, and service projects at the Puyallup United Methodist Church.

Statement

My mom and dad have been married almost 50 years, a Democrat and a Republican. Growing up I learned it’s about people over party. It’s about helping others and doing what is right, regardless of party affiliation. As a history teacher I know America has been its strongest, and our freedoms protected, when we work together. I will work to solve our community issues of safety, education, traffic, affordable housing, and healthcare. We need Representatives who actually put our community first. I bring the leadership you deserve because united we stand, but divided we fall.
