Statement

As the daughter of a WWII Veteran and South Korean immigrant, I was raised with a tenacious mindset. The cost of living is increasing, public safety is decreasing, and our homeless, addicts, and mentally ill are suffering. Together, we can address the core issues to provide real solutions and instill trust in our justice system.

We can build something better for our community through balanced representation with common sense that places your interests before special interests. Your voice and your family’s well-being are my priorities. I humbly ask for your vote to hold Olympia accountable for our freedoms.

I have lived in Pierce County for over 60 years. I am very active in my community and have been a Precinct Committee Officer for 14 years in Tacoma. I am a co-founder of “Operation Support Our Troops”. In an 11 year span, we sent 172,000+ holiday packages to troops overseas. Operation Support Our Troops was instrumental in getting the I-5 overpass at exit 122 renamed “Freedom Bridge”! We worked with Fischer house supporting military families during surgery.

Statement

Washington residents are appalled by the escalating crime spree: murders, shootings, car thefts and other lawless behavior. We need to pass anti-crime legislation. We need to hold criminals accountable for their actions, and stop giving them the upper hand.

Anti-police laws passed in 2021 have only worsened the situation. Firearms bills that were passed have not decreased the murders in our community. Police departments are short staffed, and solutions to help communities hire more officers did not pass legislation. Every individual should be safe at home, at school, at work and running everyday errands. It’s time to take action now and make safety a top priority for all!

Tax relief needs to be prioritized over spending, especially on the heels of a “pandemic”. What happened to our surplus? While other states suspended certain taxes during the pandemic, our state increased taxes. Government agencies frivolously spend and spend, expecting us to replenish their sources through increased taxes. Agencies should start at zero, and prove their budgets to legislators before being passed.

Academics and safety should be top priorities for our children at school. We need to get back to the basics! It’s time for action! It’s time for a change!

Statement

These are challenging times for our country. I’m running because I have the depth of experience working for you on the issues that matter most. We must do more to address affordability and create jobs, from rising housing costs pricing out seniors and working families alike, to the price at the pump and everywhere in-between. I’m a recognized leader in the Legislature for my work on workforce issues and training.

We must also tackle the public safety crisis in our community. In the past session, we passed a series of fixes to police reform that will strengthen the ability of law enforcement to keep our community safe and arrest dangerous criminals. I led the Senate on expanding community policing through programs like Safe Streets, and will continue working across the aisle to improve these laws and adequately fund public safety.

I have always honored our veterans and supported our military and national guard. I’m proud to have the support of the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs, Washington State Council of Fire Fighters, Washington State Education Association, Washington State Labor Council, Washington State Nurses, and community leaders Sen. Rose Franklin and Lua Prichard.

I ask for your continued support.

Statement

Since the incumbent was elected, taxes have increased and quality of life has decreased. Schools are worse, crime is on the rise, and we have an economy that doesn’t work for everyone. It’s time for real leadership.

I’m your neighbor — a concerned parent and small business owner, not an out of touch politician. As President of Tacoma Pierce County Safe, I’m leading the effort locally to make our community safer, restore police funding, and add services for those in need. I believe in compassion and accountability. We deserve better. It would be an honor to have your vote.

Statement

We face unprecedented community and household challenges. Prices and taxes continue to soar. It’s harder than ever to make ends meet. Moreover, crime and trouble often rule. This imminent danger displaces neighbors, businesses, and jobs. It also triggers countless costs, inconveniences, and countermeasures - replacing our freedom with fear. Crime, addiction, homelessness are complex and related requiring public/private collaboration – foremost, it requires relentless elected stewardship. Elected stewardship brings partners together here and Olympia to address our challenges and spawn opportunities for all. Let’s make a difference! Thank you sincerely for your vote and support!

Elected Experience

I am a first-time candidate in Pierce County’s 29th District.

Other Professional Experience

I have been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 27 years in both private and public healthcare systems. I am credentialed in Dementia Specialty Care and currently serve as a Regional Nurse Manager in the Pierce County area.

Education

I was awarded an Associate Degree in Nursing from Clover Park College in 1995.

Community Service

I have lived and worked in Pierce County for 60 years. Like many of you, I have watched Washinton State become unrecognizable. I can no longer sit by and hope for the best. We must Make That Change, together.

Statement

When elected, I will bring a fresh perspective and common-sense solutions to Olympia for the problems facing District 29. Over the last 2 years, small businesses have taken the brunt of the COVID19 response. The current policies have allowed crime to go unprosecuted, taxes to soar, and inflation takes more of your paycheck. The residents of District 29 need a voice in Olympia to demand accountability for safe neighborhoods and schools, for family and small businesses, for transparent state spending, and for making crime illegal again. I will be your voice. The time is now to Make That Change.

Statement

I was raised by hardworking immigrants who supported our family by doing farm work and cutting meat. I’m a first generation Mexican-American and the first in my family to graduate from college. Right now, working families like mine are struggling. In Olympia, I’ll prioritize economic revitalization with living wage jobs, confront the housing crisis, and improve public safety.
