Statement

The 27th Legislative District is home to some of the most hardworking, innovative, and creative people in Washington, and we all want the same things. The only difference between us, is how we choose to address the issues we see.

Low crime, safe neighborhoods, and clean streets. The ability to afford reaching our goals and living our dreams. The ability to take care of our families, send our children to great schools, and get amazing medical care. Good jobs, the ability to succeed in business, and real opportunities. These are the things that will allow all of us to move forward.

We’ve seen how government overreach and bad policy decisions can damage our careers, our families, our neighborhoods, and our future opportunities. We’ve seen that people who have the freedom to make their own choices, live better lives. I know we deserve better, and we can do better. We have the chance to make a real difference, and create a community that truly reflects the goals we all have.

Let’s end the division, and focus on the real core issues we all want to see improved. I’m listening, and we can build a better and brighter Washington… together.

Statement

My love for this community inspires me to represent the people of the 27th district in Olympia.

We have many challenges that can divide us. I see these as opportunities to come together to support each other and prioritize community safety and health. I have worked hard in my short time in the Senate to implement sustainable solutions to our homelessness crisis and address root causes of crime by engaging our community and systems partners at all levels, and investing in breaking cycles of generational poverty.

I also know the issues that are pressing us for urgent action because I have lived through many of them myself. As a person who has grown up in poverty and violence, made it through the foster care system, and experienced housing and food insecurity, I have been lucky enough to achieve personal success through community support, collaboration and sincere engagement. I want to use this model and create the opportunity for every individual who lives and works here to thrive.

When we work together, we can achieve meaningful and equitable solutions that directly improve the safety and health of every person. We can do this. I humbly ask for your vote.

Statement

I am the leader of the Dubpublican fracture of the Republican Party and am running for a State Senate position in Washington’s 27th District. For Tacoma to experience the transformation it requires, it must first change its voting behavior.

The future of Washington politics has to be reimagined in new and imaginative ways to become something more compatible with the voters than today’s beaten-down system. The demands will require us to fracture our politics toward the center of the spectrum, where over 80% of Tacoma voters already reside and maintain their livelihood.

The coming two years in office will be some of the hardest in our state’s history following a failed attempt to outborrow inflation, Covid-19, explosive crime growth, and a homelessness epidemic. There are no shortages of challenges ahead, but the two that will become my focus are lowering the cost of housing and curbing the state’s appetite to borrow against our future.

In Washington State, the Democratic Party controls the governor’s office, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and both houses of the state legislature. The challenge ahead is monumental and will require courage to do something different on Election Day. Vote Dubpublicans for Senate. Vote Stewart.

Statement

Not left. Not right. Forward. Insure adequate hospital/shelter space to address mental health, drug addiction, and financial hardships in the homeless population. Revert to our 2013-15 spending level, and use the savings to buy healthcare for every Washingtonian.

Bring back critical manufacturing lost to globalism. Reduce supply chain fragility and inflation. Only nuclear power can replace fossil fuel plants. Nuclear is also the only power source that can reduce our reliance on foreign dictators. Decouple schools from property taxes. Quality education shouldn’t depend on your zip code. I support Right to Repair, Ranked Choice Voting, Emergency Power Reform.

Tacoma is home. I graduated from Stadium, and Dash Point was my backyard. Quitting was not an option in my family. I used these principles during my time as a public school educator and will bring them to the House. I believe a robust academic educational system and solid knowledge of the constitution are paramount to bringing back safety, security, and certainty to Washington. You, “We the People” must learn to get your voice heard, acknowledged, and counted. Elect me, and I will teach you how.
