New Nature Trail at Meridian Habitat Park

Construction is wrapping up on the fourth phase of site improvements at Meridian Habitat Park. New features include a picnic shelter located near the Great Lawn, updated and improved parking, and updating the park entry via Meridian Avenue. The project also includes landscaping, lighting, and improved pedestrian walkways. Plus, the new wooded nature trail located by the outdoor learning area offers a great shaded strolling area!

Foothills Trail Improvments May Cause Temporary Closures

The Foothills Trail is undergoing several improvement projects that will benefit all trail users. Expect temporary closures to the following trail areas:

• East Puyallup Trailhead Expansion

Parking Lot expansion and ADA accessibility improvements. When construction begins shortly, the parking lot will be closed for 4-5 months. The trail will remain open during this time.

• Trail Crossings at Military Road & 136th Street

The trail will be closed for one week for ADA accessibility improvements, please check the website for closure dates.

• McMillin & South Prairie Trailheads

The trail will remain open during signage and ADA accessibility improvements.

• Ski Park Bridge

Ski Park Bridge will be closed 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day from August 22 - 24, 2023 as we assess the soil around it to help with its replacement project. More information is available at www.PierceCountyWA.gov/SkiParkBridge.

To learn more about these improvement projects and to sign up for updates, visit www.PierceCountyWA.gov/Foothills.
