Letter From The Editor

Hello valued readers and welcome to our sixth issue! This spooktacular issue is our much talked about Halloween issue! Some of the things inside may be a bit scary, but don’t worry! No models were harmed in the making of these shots :) This magazine features clothing from two awesome designers. Celine Brideau of CBrido Collections generously lent us clothing that you would have just seen on the runway at the New York Fashion Week! We were also priveledged to get some great clothing from Romantica Nocturnis Clothing. You’re going to notice that our layouts and content are changing quite a bit but don’t fret! We’re preparing for bigger and better things, and you will soon see us in many new places. Thank you so much for your continued support and readership!

How To Ch Ladies, we have been carrying these girls (ta-ta’s, boobs, bosoms, whatever you call them) around for decades and it has come to my attention that a lot of us don’t even know the typical precautions to take when ensuring that our lovely lady lumps remain safe. As we all know, there are many different ways to check your ta-ta’s on your own. Here are the most common ways to do a home breast exam:

Step 1: 1. Stand facing the mirror keeping your shoulder’s straight and your hand’s placed on your hip’s while paying special attention to these characteristics: - Color - Shape - Texture Look for any color changes, redness, soreness, dimpling, puckering, bulges, rashes, inverted nipple (nipple going in instead of coming out) OR any nipple discharge that is white, yellow or clear. You can also gently squeeze your nipple to see if any discharge drains from your nipple.

Model: Kayley Reed Photography: Allie Beckwith Photography

heck Your Ta-ta’s! By: the Empowered Women’s Panel Step 2: Next you will need to raise both hands/arms above your head and repeat the steps in number one. If you have any of these symptoms, whether it be with your hands above your head or at your hips, you should check with your doctor for further evaluation! You can check your breasts while laying, sitting, standing, etc. and it’s very important to try at least 2 different positions while checking. We are going to go with standing to continue the exam, feel free to choose whichever way you feel most comfortable.

Step 3: Raise your right arm above your head and put your middle and index fingers (left hand) together and place them on to your right breast. Begin to move your fingers in a circular motion (the size of a quarter) making sure to cover the entire area of your breast checking for any lumps, bumps or soreness. Once you have finished with your right breast, repeat those steps with your left breast as well. When doing a self-exam, what you’re really looking for is any changes in your breasts that may have not been there before. It is important to create a road map of your breasts so that you will notice changes if or when they do happen.

Mostly A’s: The Sexy Animal You are lively and flirtatious. An animal costume that shows a little (or a lot) of skin is your costume of choice, and why shouldn’t it be?! For one night only you can be WHOEVER you want and no one can judge you for it...right?

Mostly B’s: The Superhero You are calm, cool and collected. You know who you are and you aren’t afraid to show it, but you’re not about to wear a completely skimpy costume. You know the limits and your subtle mystery draws everyone into you.

Mostly C’s: The Novelty Costume You’re the class clown. You take every opportunity to crack a joke and turn something rather solemn into a comedic situation. You’ve probably made your costume yourself or ordered it online, but either way no one is going to have a costume as hilarious as yours.

Mostly D’s: The Scary One You may be extremely quiet and don’t like to draw attention to yourself, but this is the one night to make an impression. You secretly love Halloween and have been anticipating this since the end of Halloween last year. You go all out with your costume, fake blood and everything. When you walk into the room, all eyes will definitely be on you.

Candy Bedroom in the

By Robyn Richard Candy in the bedroom, yes you read that right. For all you adventurous ladies and gents out there here are a few tips to using some of your favorite treats during foreplay. Now as much as you’d like to deny it, this topic always makes a woman a little curious. I mean really, now that we’ve read those Grey novels this doesn’t seem over bounds. Now choosing the right candy or the right place is key to enjoying your ride (no pun intended).

First rule is always ask about the product your using, Syrups or hard candies and sugar near your lady parts could result in adverse effects so make sure you’re well informed before using them. Also make sure neither of you are allergic to any ingredients because explaining that rash might be more painful than the rash itself.

Chocolate, ooooohhh chocolate. Such a yummy treat and imagine your partner having it drizzled over them. There is not much to say about using chocolate except make sure you buy the right kind and if you’re more into making your own mix make sure it’s not too hot before you let it pour.

Syrups seem to be quite popular as you can lick them off your partner and make it quite sensual. This however can be quite messy and sticky, if you want to experiment with this type of candy it is best to do it on old sheets and even then, lay the sheets on the floor so you can clean up any that seeped through while getting down and dirty.

Now anyone who has been to a sex shop most likely has seen the lovely little underwear or bra’s made of candy. These are what we like to call a “hit or miss” choice. You’ll either love it or hate it. What most people like is the sensations given when your partner tries to eat the candy but what they don’t like is the fit or the pinching elastics that may snap and ruin the mood.

There’s your tidbit or information on Candy in the bedroom just remember asking someone more knowledgeable about the subject or looking up the pros and cons can help you decide whether this is for you. Just be safe and have fun!

Romantic Autumn Dates By Krystina Edgar

There are many ideas for autumn date nights, and all you really have to do is use some imagination and incorporate what you and your spouse enjoys doing. Think outside the box and use what’s around you for ideas. When you think of autumn, what comes to mind? Beautiful autumn colors, Corn mazes, Pumpkins, Country/ State fairs. Here are some Romantic Autumn Date Ideas: 1. Call around to some of your local farms or pumpkin patches and find out if you can arrange a private hay ride. Bring a blanket and your favorite wine or other beverage and glasses and just cuddle up together, wrapped in the blanket, sipping away in your spouses arms during the hayride. 2. Plan a camping trip to a beautiful location where it will just be the two of you. Make this time special by lying out under the stars at night cuddled up to your spouse and get caught up on some well needed couple time. 3. Go to your local County/State fair and while there, hold your spouses hand and enjoy the rides and shows that are offered and get some cotton candy and feed it to one and other. 4. Take your spouse to a pumpkin patch and each of you pick a pumpkin, take the pumpkins home and try to carve out what feature you love most about your spouse. 5. If you want to stay home for your date night, cook your spouse’s favorite meal. Start a fire in the fire place or fire pit and have a romantic dinner by the fire. Finish the date off with some chocolate dipped fruit for dessert. Enjoy autumn in all its beauty and don’t let age slow you down from being romantic, think outside the box and surprise your spouse with romantic autumn date nights. Enjoy the opportunities you can have and spend as much couple time together as you possibly can! Models: Megan Graves, Tim Wood Photography: Megan Spence Photography

Sexy vs. Sleazy Costumes

By: Krystina Steeves

Many people struggle with “what is sexy, and what is sleazy” but there are many things to keep in mind when trying to choose the perfect Halloween costume. Are you going for the sexy look? Or are you going for the sleazy look? The difference between the two is that sexy shows off the attributes of your body that you find sexy and leaves some room for imagination when seen by others. Where as sleazy shows off everything and leaves little to the imagination and will have others looking at you for the wrong reason. Sexy is a look that you can openly share where as sleazy is more of “bedroom” look that you would commonly share with your spouse but if the sleazy look in a costume look is what you are going for then rock it! Some examples of sexy vs. sleazy costume ideas are: A sexy maid- keep the maid outfit between knee and upper thigh length. A sleazy maid- keep the maid outfit just below your butt cheeks. A sexy police officer- keep the shirt buttoned but yet reveals some of your sexy features. A sleazy police officer- unbutton the shirt so a lot of cleavage is showing Sexy vs. sleazy does not have many differences except for the fact that sleazy is exposing a lot more than sexy would so use your imagination. If the costume involves pants just cut slits in the pant legs to expose your legs and to make them sleazy cut just below your butt cheeks in the shape of your buttocks. Any costume can be taken from basic to sexy or sleazy all you need to do is make it how you want it, whether you are going for the sexy look or the sleazier look!

Cute Couple’s Costumes By Krystina Steeves Going to a Halloween party with your partner? Not sure what to choose for a costume? Well here is a little help from us to you. Depending on your style or your partner’s style, costume choices can be a difficult task causing you to freak out a little instead of relaxing and having fun like you should. Watch TV or movies? Well you’ve got tons of choices, pick your favorite couple in your fave show or film and voila! Sheldon and Amy, any one of the duck dynasty couples, superman and Lois Lane-- I mean the possibilities here are endless. Now for those of you out there that are gamers, you can go as your favorite characters of the same video game whether they’re a couple or not. Like old school Mario and Peach or Peach and Luigi and for the same sex couples, Mario and Luigi or Peach and Daisy. Anything goes for the spirit of Halloween For you creative couples, make your own costume, challenge each other to make the most awesome costume with things in the house, create a category and a deadline and then go as that. Chose a scary costume full of guts and gore to scare your friends or if you really want to scare your friends try choosing the costume for one another making the choice less difficult and much more fun! This is sure to get people talking about your costumes since we all like laughing with friends. One of the classic costumes that is always easy and cost effective, go as your better (or worse) half. Use your partner’s wardrobe to dress up and pretend the whole night you truly believe you are them. This makes your costume fun for the entire population at the party, they will try and get you to give up the act making the night quite amusing!

Walnut Chocolate Tart Bouchées This tart is as chic as it is simple. The filling requires no baking, so after a few hours in the refrigerator, just slice and serve. While you wait, make the cherry-vodka sauce; its sweet cherry flavor is a perfect complement to the tart’s bittersweet, trufflelike interior. Game plan: The tart can be made up to 2 days ahead. Store covered in the refrigerator. INGREDIENTS For the crust • We use mini frozen tart shells For the filling: • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (1/2 stick), cut into small pieces • 1 cup heavy cream • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt INSTRUCTIONS 1. Place chocolate and butter in a medium bowl; set aside. 2. Combine cream, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves and liquid is just at a simmer, about 4 minutes. 3. Pour cream mixture over chocolate and butter and let sit until melted, about 4 minutes. Gently stir until smooth. 4. Pour ganache into the tart shell and transfer to the refrigerator. 5. Decorate with walnut 6. Chill until set, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Photography: Dee Sinner Photography

Necklines

The Perfect Style For You

By: Robyn Richard

Ohh how we love fall, lattes, nights in, long sleeve shirts, sweaters and the two most classic (always in style) necklines are on shelves everywhere. I mean you can’t just own a major brand and ignore one of the best reoccurring fashions since well who knows really. Crew neck and V-neck long sleeves are back ladies and from what we’ve been seeing we hope they never leave. Crew necks are simple and can be worn in so many ways; you can buy elegant looking shirts as well as sweaters with the same exact neckline. And let’s face it; they are extremely comfortable to wear. You don’t feel like you’re choking or you’re showing of “the girls” too much. You can wear a ton of necklaces with this kind of top or scarves (check out that awesome piece in the magazine too) and you can feel super comfy wearing all of it! What’s not to love? V-necks are awesome too; you’ve got a few different kinds to choose from as well. You got the regular V-neck, no tank top needed and you get that bit of cleavage you can show off in a classy way of course! And then you’ve got your low cut V-neck which can be quite helpful when trying to keep warm since you are now wearing two layers. The other great thing about low cut V-necks are the face that you can mix and match with your Tank tops and get that little burst of color under and otherwise plain looking top. Now we can forget our greatest friend the sweaters because these amazing pieces of clothing can not only keep you warm and comfy but also can keep you in style. People often underestimate the fashion of a good sweater but there is obviously a reason they are always there in your closet and you love wearing them! Now it almost goes without saying that sweaters also come in both necklines but rarely come in a low cut V-neck, they are out there but with the biggest point of a sweater is being warm they come few and far in-between.

The Definition of Strength As Told To Lilly Babineau

Andrea’s Story... Lately, I’ve been thinking about the things that seem so normal to me now. Things that I’d never imagine would be my life. But, I know any mom/ dad who’s spent more than a couple months in the hospital would understand... There’s a woman I see out my window every morning at 9:15. She’s never late, and every time she gets out of the car she walks a couple steps, then turns around and makes sure her doors are locked. I wonder if she realizes that she does that every single day, or if it’s just auto pilot and she doesn’t even notice. The fact that I wear shoes all day, every day, is still so strange to me. Usually when you’re home they come off at the door. But now the only time they come off is when you’re in bed for the night, because the floors just aren’t clean enough. The fact that I can touch gastric fluid (stomach bile) without gloves on and it doesn’t gross me out. That stuff’s been all over me. And that words like ileostomy, mucus fistula, gastroentestinal parastaylis, cisapride, metacolpromide, septra, and jejunostomy are all everyday vocabulary for me. The fact that I can’t take a [pee] without the nurses charting it. I live in a fish bowl with beady nosy eyes watching my every move and recording my every word. The fact that missing one of my children has become such a normal, helpless feeling, that there is no solution for. In this place when another family is hurting, it kills you. It’s unlike any friendship you’ve ever had. When they have rough days, you do too… and you wish you could take the pain, sorrow, and heartache away and replace it with joy, happiness and hope. But you can’t. I hope that one day I can look back at all this and be thankful for the lessons learned, the friends made, and the successes my child and everyone else’s children have made, because right now it feels like I’m in a dark black hole, and every day its dropping even further. The fear of rock bottom is taunting… I am grateful for the IWK and all they’re doing for Dylan, but hell… I have a seven month old that my family has never met. Seven whole months have come and gone, my five pound, 34 weeker is now seven months and 19 pounds… and growing. Slowly growing.

A Brand New Baby... My pregnancy with Dylan was like any other pregnancy. Morning sickness, excitement… I felt kicks and hiccups and of course immediate love for my baby. We went for our 20 week ultrasound and nothing was said until the end. The tech said I’m just going to get the doctor so she can discuss a few things about the ultrasound with you. I was excited because I thought that was when we would find out the sex of our baby, and we did... But the way we did was not what we expected. She said “Andrea, your little boy has a rare birth defect called Gastroschisis and his intestines are on the outside of his body.” That was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Of course as soon as we got home, we researched Gastroschisis and we were terrified. We read about the surgeries, the amount of babies that don’t make it, and we met families whose babies have had the same defect. Unfortunately, nothing prepared us for what was going to happen to our sweet little man when he was born. I was admitted to the IWK Children’s Hospital at 29 weeks due to Dylan’s bowel being swollen. We stayed there, 3 hours from home and waited for him to make his arrival. He ended up being born at 34 weeks, weighing 5lbs 13oz. The words that the doctor said to me stayed in my head my whole 62 hours of labor. He said, “Gastroschisis is the best birth defect one could have.” We weren’t so lucky. Usually the typical “gastro baby” is in the hospital for 6 weeks. At least, that’s what we were told. But, since being admitted at 29 weeks, we have now been at the IWK for 9 months straight. Dylan has had six surgeries now, and has at least two more to go before going home is even an option. Many people think that after a few surgeries you get used to it, but the thought of a tube going down his throat, breathing for him, eyes taped shut so they don’t dry out, arms and legs tied to the table so he doesn’t subconsciously flinch and that knife cutting him hip to hip for the six, seventh, or eighth time NEVER gets easier. Life at the IWK never gets easier, but you learn how to adjust. We have learned to take it one day at a time, and most of all to find support. It doesn’t matter from whom, but you can’t live this life alone. I’ve learned that no matter how I’m feeling, or if I just want to give up that I need to put my smile on walking into the hospital every day because that little boy who thinks that this life is normal, is depending on me.

Gastroschisis... Gastroschisis in our city is called rare, but it really isn’t. While researching I found Avery’s Angels Gastroschisis Foundation, and their statistics show that 1 in 2229 babies will be born with Gastroschisis, and the cause is unknown. This foundation is working together to find a cause and spread awareness. Without these moms and dads, I would have been alone with no knowledge of what to come. They’ve been my rock when I needed it. My advice to those struggling is to lean on something besides yourself, whether it’s God, nature, meditation, anything. Find what works for you because the things you go through are too much to handle on your own. And mostly, to trust that SOME day, things will be better than this. Even if things get worse for us now, someday we can look back on these particular moments and think about how far we’ve come as individuals.

Christmas Special in October Every year around this time, I take it upon myself to adopt a family in dire need of help; one that particularly deserves some good in their lives, and they become my Christmas Family. I start fundraisers, collect donations and really try to give them a great Christmas they would have otherwise not had. The criteria for my Christmas Family tends to be really strict, due to the amount of people who unfortunately take advantage of things like this. The family we picked this year is particularly deserving. We have chosen Andrea Cunningham, and her children, baby Dylan and her toddler Hailee. As you can tell from their story in which we featured in ths issue, no one deserves this gift more than she does. She is walking proof that a mother’s love can keep even a young woman strong. Courage, bravery and strength. Three things this woman has proven to possess in this very trying time. If you would like to help with contributions, donations, etc. please feel free to contact any of the staff of PinkBlitz or myself, and we can give you more information on how you can help. It means so much to me that the rest of my staff has come on board with this, I am certain that we can definitely do something great for this little family.

Orange and black seems to always be in around this time of year, and not just because of Halloween! Orange is often popular because the leaves turn that color as they prepare for Winter’s chill. And black? Well that’s ALWAYS in!

What’s Your

Favorite Roleplay? By: Robyn Richard

We all love to get down and dirty and since Halloween is just around the corner let’s take a minute to talk about role-play. Most couples actually admit to using some sort of role play because it adds playfulness and edginess to the relationship. For you ladies thinking “do people really do this” or those who are thinking “I thought we were the only couple that really did this” you are not alone. Role playing is healthy for a relationship it keeps things fresh. The most common role-play would be the cop and bad guy\girl. This role-play is particularly popular because either role can be played by either partner depending on what role turns you on the most. So here is the down low on this dirty little secret. The person pretending to be the cop usually likes to be in power and likes giving out orders and being in control of the situation and the amount of control depends on the couple. This role is fun because the person in this role is the one making most of the suggestions of what to do next. The person playing as the bad guy\girl usually likes being bad and being bad can be really sexy they may also like being told what to do in the bedroom; this may be because it’s easier to follow direction. This role is fun because everything is in the hands of the other person. Role play can be used for foreplay which means the acting ends and the two returns to themselves during sex. It can also last during the entire session with specific word use and sometimes even use props like a chair and hand cuffs or handcuffs by themselves. Whether you are new at this or a seasoned role play pro, we all know that this can be extremely fun. The one thing most of you might not know is if during any role-play something does not feel right or what is going on makes you uncomfortable, speak up. If you’re not feeling it then it’s probably not right. Do not wait it out just be safe and always be vocal about what you do not feel comfortable with.

Taking Care of Your Breasts By: Robyn Richard Aside from checking your breasts frequently for lumps, there are several ways to take care of your lady lumps to ensure they stay as healthy and youthful as you are! Here are just a few steps in doing so: - Give yourself a massage now and then, not too much pressure and use circular motions. This can help stimulate blood flow and relax the muscles in the area. - Go bra-less more often, letting the girls hang free can actually help them stay perky by promoting muscle use. - Don’t sleep with your bra on either. Sleeping without it lets you ta-ta’s breathe. All parts of your body need a break from tight fitting clothes and undergarments. - Moisturise the girls, your breasts may get dry once in a while especially in the winter. So lather yourself up with a moisturiser rich in Shea butter. - The right bra is also extremely important. Too tight or too loose both are actually bad for the boob. Get sized at each different bra shop you buy from because different vendors size a bit differently and may have different bras for your body type. - Also get sized every time you buy a new bra because your boobs may have grown without you noticing. - Check up on your family’s history with breast related issues. It never hurts to know what runs in the family since your doctor may ask if anything comes up. - If anything feel’s off or if you have any pain, go to your doctor, ask questions there are no such thing as dumb questions when it comes to your health. By ensuring proper breast health, you can not only prevent Breast Cancer, but you can make sure your ladies stay strong, supple and beautiful!

Ellen Degeneres

Like many “funny celebs” Ellen DeGeneres started as a stand-up comedian, having gigs in coffee houses and small clubs, by 1981 she was emcee at Clyde’s Comedy club in New Orleans; she then started touring nationally and got the title of the Funniest Person in America. In the late 80’s and early 90’s Ellen made her TV and film debut, having roles in shows like Open House and in the movie Coneheads. Later in the 90’s her comedy was showcased in her a television series called Ellen, she was also referred to as the “Female Seinfeld” because of her observational Humor”. In 2001 Ellen returned to television for a show called The Ellen Show, and finally in 2003 The Ellen DeGeneres Show that we all love was born. On September 9, 2013, The Ellen DeGeneres Show season 11 hits the Television screens for another year of laughter, jokes, games, touching stories and dancing. Everybody has watched Ellen on her daytime show at least once, if not on TV, you have searched clips on YouTube, I know I always find myself watching several videos to cheer me up when I feel down in the gutter. Ellen has the kind of heart everybody should have, she always has many surprises for numerous people by giving presents during Christmas, giving away cars and sums of money to families in need, to schools and also to communities all over the country! “Here are the values that I stand for: honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values.” – Ellen DeGeneres Of course we all know that Ellen has been open about her sexuality for a while now, and this is the Ellen that we have all grown to love.

DeGeneres is a great role model when it comes to this subject, not only is she comfortable in her skin, she often talks about the awareness of what teens and adults go through when it comes to telling their family and friends about being gay. She has made it very clear that she does not like to hear when someone gets bullied about their sexuality to the point that they commit suicide. She lets her viewers know that it’s not ok to put people down! “Most comedy is based on getting a laugh at somebody else’s expense. And I find that that’s just a form of bullying in a major way. So I want to be an example that you can be funny and be kind, and make people laugh without hurting somebody else’s feelings.” – Ellen DeGeneres To add to her long list of good deeds, DeGeneres has also been a true believer of animal rights. Being a vegan herself, she reached out to her fans to join her by having a section on her site for The Ellen DeGeneres Show that is called “Going Vegan With Ellen” this is where she features vegan recipes and encourages “Meatless Mondays”. This past April, she has donated a sum of $25,000 to stop AgGag legislation in Tennessee, to prohibit investigators to record animal abuse on farms. Ellen was also a Campaign Ambassador for Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey, a new tradition asking people to adopt a turkey instead of eating one at Thanksgiving. When it comes down to it, Ellen is truly an amazing person all around, not only is she a great role model, she really does have a heart of gold! Nevertheless, Ellen has rightfully deserved to be our very first “Favorite Lady”! In the words of Ellen “Be kind to one another!”

Metabolism Boosters & Other Healthy Tips By: Jennifer Richard

If you want to lose weight, boosting your metabolism is the best technique to go with. But you got to be careful, some of the stuff you hear on TV and on the Internet might look like they work wonders but the best way to go with losing weight and staying is the ‘’old fashion way’’: exercise and healthy eating. Weights Some woman thinks that lifting weights is going to make them look like a man. This is not true. Training your muscles, regularly, will only make your metabolism work faster. Cardio You’ve heard it countless of times; the best way to stay healthy is to stay active. Doing a 10 minutes cardio workout a day will help you lose weight faster. Go take a walk, a jog, bicycling… It doesn’t matter, as long as you are constantly moving. Water When you are working out, refresh your self with water. When you’re eating a meal, drink water. When you’re at work, drink water. Basically, drink a lot of water. Water is one of the most important things to do when trying to get healthy. Lose all habits of unhealthy drinks. Energy Drinks (careful!) If you like to drink energy drinks, that’s fine, as long as you drink the right kind. Some energy drinks contains too much caffeine and sugar. There are some energy drinks that are healthy and give you the right kind of energy. It is still highly recommended that you should not drink these too often. They can cause health problems if consumed excessively. Healthy snacks Eating often during the day can be healthy. Instead of having a meal every 3-4 hours, eating healthy snacks during the day will not only help you lose weight but make your metabolism work faster. You will be giving it constant nutriments to help it go the rate wanted. Spicy food Adding spicy food to your meals will also help your metabolism speed up because of the compounds that they contain. But be careful, for some people, spices give them heartburns. Vegetables like red or green chilli peppers will give you’re metabolism a temporary boost, but a boost none the less.

Proteins The human body burns calories by just sitting down (not a lot mind you) by digesting proteins more than by digesting fats and carbohydrates. Don’t switch you’re diet to and all-meat diet. You want to balance it as much as possible. Lean, protein-rich foods can boost metabolism at mealtime. Healthy sources of proteins include lean beef, turkey, fish, white meat chicken, tofu, beans, nuts, eggs, and low-fat dairy products. Coffee drinker? Tea drinker? It’s okay to drink coffee once in a while, just don’t over drink it. Try drinking plain old black coffee. If you’re more of a tea person, that’s great! Try the green tea. It provides more energy. Avoid crash diets They might look like they are working but the minute you stop the diet, you gain all that weight again. A balance of healthy nutriments and exercise will be much more effective than these diets. Now remember, a better metabolism equals a better health. These tips will help you take control of your body and make you feel healthy. Once you start applying these tips, people will notice. We promise, you will feel 110% better in your skin.

Food For Thought Daily consumption of Apples is known to lower cholesterol, whereas Cinnamon is known to potentially lower blood sugar. If you find you are having problems with high blood pressure, which can happen no matter what size you are, Garlic is very good at regulating it.

Herbal Supplements Believe it or not, Dandilion Root provides much needed support to your iver by flushing toxins from our body and improving digestion. Coconut Oil helps speed up the healing process. For dry skin, bruises, cuts, this oil also fights infection.

Halloween Inspired Makeup By: Christina Murray

This year’s Halloween inspired makeup is all about the smokey silver eyes. Master this technique, and you’ll be able to pull off almost any look, whether you want to suit up in your new Halloween costume or you plan on dawning that Little Black Dress. We’re going teach you the concept of the smokey eye, and then how to apply it within different looks. Remember, let your inner muse take reign, add your own variations to make the look your own. First Things First: • As with any look, you’ll want to begin by apply a primer and foundation all over your face. • We’ll use white, gold and brown for this example. • First you are going to apply the white in the inner corners of your eye. • You’ll want to use an eye shadow applicator or Q-tip for this one. • Next, feel free to use your finger, but an eye shadow brush will work as well, and apply the gold over the rest of the eyelid. • You will then use the brush to apply the dark brown to the outer corners of the eye. • When finished apply eyeliner (use liquid for an extra bold statement). Now that you’ve mastered the smokey eye, play around with the look by blending colours or adding colour up to the eyebrows. The gold works well for this. You can also close your eyes and outline the top of your eyelid with the brown for an even more dramatic effect. Put Your Skills To The Test: Look Number One: The Little Black Dress For this look, you’ll want to use white, silver and black. Baked eye shadows with shimmer are best. Use liquid eyeliner for best results. Go for a crimson lipstick.

Look Number Two: The Vampire This look is very similar to the previous, but this time we’ll be adding light pressed powder and shimmer over the entire face to give you that “Twilight Sparkle”. For a really dramatic look, check out Manic Panic’s Glamnation foundations and powders, as they have a white variety. Complete this look with false eyelashes, black or dark plum lipstick and fangs. Look Number Three: The Cat For this smokey eye variation, you are going to again use white silver and black. However, this time you will apply a gray in the crease of the eye lid, and white up to the eyebrows. This look calls for dramatic eyeliner so begin by lining your upper eye lid, but drag the end out and up, forming a “cat eye”. Then, line the bottoms of your eyes. At the corner of your eye, drag the top line down a tad past the bottom line, almost like a tear that is beginning to form. Colour the bottom part of your nose black, using black eyeliner. Then draw a line from your nose to your lips. Also outline your lips in black then draw a line, dragging across your top lips out past the corner of your mouth to create the illusion of a cat’s mouth. then draw some spots on either side of the middle line and some whiskers. Look Number Four: The Pumpkin Lady: Use a bright orange and a dark brown or purple in the outer corners. Thick black eyeliner and mascara is key here. Feel free to use bronzer with this look. Add clear or light lip gloss.

The Perfect pants o

By: Jennifer Richard

Choosing the perfect pair of pants can be like very tricky for all women no matter her size. If you’re not sure what best suits your body shape, no need to worry. We’re going to show you what type of pants suits your body best. If you’re petite… People have a tendency to think that since you’re so petite, finding a pair of pants is easy. We know that you know that that’s not the case. Our suggestion: try on a pair of skinny jean or cords. They give out the impression of being taller. Wearing a coloured pair of will also make you look taller. If you’re long and lean… You have long legs? Wearing a straight leg will make you’re legs look like a thousand miles. Boot cuts will also compliment your legs. Just don’t forget to make sure the hem fall to your heel and not lower. If you’re a plus size… Go for a wide leg. Pants with a wide leg will make accentuate your curves. Some men dig curves, and who know, you might find mister right. For those who have already found their prince, he’ll go bazinga over those amazing shapes. Plus, it will make you look taller! We also suggest trying a pair of higher waist pants. It will give you more coverage. If you’re pear shaped… Try on a pair of bootcut jeans. These wont pull the attention to you’re shape as much because of the openness around your ankles. Slim flares are also a good choice. You’ve got the curves girl; we want you to own them! If you have a very small butt… Three words: Higher back pockets. Buy wearing pants that have higher back pockets will give the illusion that you have more butt that you actually have. While we all want those jeans that are like the magic ones in “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” but the likelihood is slim to none. However, there are pants that are pretty good for every body type and they are leggings and/or jeggings! I personally think they are miracle pants!

Fall Fashions

Hard to believe Autumn has arrived already. The mornings and evenings are getting chilly, and the time has come to haul out last year’s coats and jackets and find all the missing things that have been hiding away in those pockets since last spring. Often times this season we may wear a coat or jacket, which completely covers whatever fashionable attire, is hiding beneath. So then, style must make itself known in fun and fashionable coats, jackets or sweaters. Blazers are a perfect and versatile addition to any wardrobe this season. Perfect with dresses skirts and slacks for a polished business look, they can also be paired with jeans for a cool and casual style for both function and fashion. Trench coats need not be boring. The perfect trench can bring a simple ‘jeans and t-shirt’ look to life, making you look totally trendy for a day out shopping. Try a brightly colored statement piece or even a print if you dare. Or for a more conservative style, invest in some beautiful colored scarves to bring color to your face, and add flare. Sweaters are also perfect for the season. Sweater dresses, leggings and boots are a perfect blend of comfort and fashion. This look can be dressed up or down, and is comfortable for any lifestyle. A beautiful sweater is perfect for showing off curves and can be soft, feminine and sexy. So invest in some good outerwear this season. Have fun with it and don’t be scared of color.

Scarves!

So, funny story. I’ve never really been big on scarves, but since everyone says they are fashionable, I gave it a shot. Apparently, I’m not so good with scarves. Tying them? Much more confusing than it looks. I had two girls trying to help me tie this scarf, Dee and Demy. Well, Dee was trying to show me on her how to tie this scarf in a cute, non-tight way. I messed it up. Demy stepped up and gave me some clear cut instructions. After choking myself and having them laugh at me, we finally figured it out. Amazeballs, right? While wearing this scarf and striking several poses for Dee, I have come to one conclusion. I love scarves! I felt so adorable in it that I instantly decided I would be wearing scarves all year long. Turns out, they aren’t just made to keep your nexk warn. They keep your soul warm :) Alright, now I’m about to get really deep here. When you find that one thing... accessory, pants, shirt or whatever... that makes your soul feel good, it is usually something that makes you feel better about yourself. Like this scarf made me feel adorable and on some level, sexy... it was good for my soul that just so happened to need a lift that day. After all the fus, we had a pretty good day. My adventures with scarves turned out pleasantly surprising, and I’ve gained a new accessory obsession!
