Follow your heart. If it longs for being 'the woman thats stands out‘, then go for it and confidently wear whatever you want to, wherever you are. There are no rules for you in fashion, because you make them. Congratulations if you're brave enough to break out and be yourself.

Be inspired by Pinup women from the past. Pick your role models wisely and learn from them. Try out styles on yourself and find your own look. Don't get upset if your eyeliner or hair is not instantly turning out the way you want it to - no Hollywood Diva ever got it the first time. Promise! Try finding the red lipstick shade that fits your skin tone best and boost your self-esteem with your favorite scent and the loveliest accessories. Even if your make up still looks perfect at night, take it off before you go to sleep. Your skin will love you for that. Flawless skin is just as important as the rest of your make up. It can be achieved by taking off your make up at night, washing your face and a good moisturizer.Â

Last but not least, we believe in the law of attraction. We believe that a person's thoughts attract people and situations in their lives. Being polite, positive and loving yourself are the perfect steps to becoming a confident and beautiful woman on the inside, as well as on the outside. If you feel comfortable with the way that you look and treat people, others will feel good about you too. Being a thankful and life-loving woman is the secret to good things that will come to you all by themselves. These are our beauty essentials to embody the best look. The key to elegance and beauty lies within yourself.

ASK THE V I N TAG E D O L L Written by The Vintage Doll Photography by Vivid EyeCandy

"As a mother, how do you juggle your photo shoots around your children's schedules? Do you get a sitter, take them with you? And who is your "person" you take with you too shoots?" Question asked by: Jackie Gallagher As parents it's our job to always put our children first. Being a model and pinup is my dream not there's. I decided to bring them into this world so it would not be fair for them to come second to anything, not to mention that they are the most important things in my life. In my three years of modeling I haven't even been to ten photo shoots. Why? Because being a mom of small boys takes a lot of time. I always work my shoots in around what's going on in my life with my boys. When I do plan a shoot I always confirm with my trusted baby sister aka grandma to take them. I also make sure that once at my shoot I don't mess around because I have two babies waiting for me. I go do my shoot and make sure I wrap up and leave at a respectful time. It's always important to bring someone with you on your shoot, especially if it's a new photographer and you don't know him/her. Mostly for your own safety and also to make sure things don't get out of hand like a photographer pushing you to do something that you would rather not do. I always took my husband to first time shoots, but just having another person there should detour any non professional behavior. "Where/how did you find out and research about the pinup life and style?" Question asked by: Val I discovered the pinup/rockabilly culture and style when I was 16 and moved to Oklahoma. I was introduced to a group of friends by my boyfriend at the time and they were all in the rockabilly lifestyle. I fell in love with it and for five years I used the internet and Google to learn and research the pinup/ rockabilly life and style and learn all that I could. I learned from blogs, studied photos, and learned style tips from YouTube videos. I discovered the style of pinup modeling from car magazines and fell in love, which started my study of the actual pinup style. To be truly good at something and embody it, you need to understand and appreciate it's history. So now for eight years I have been doing so and I still am learning and growing in my style and passion everyday. "How exactly do you become a pin-up model? I think that job would be super swell." Question asked by: Autumn Rain Becoming a pinup model is easy really, you just make a choice to pursue it and put the work in to truly learn, understand and appreciate it. You learn the life, the history and the style. To really be a good pinup "model" you have to know what pinup is and understand it full on. It's more than an outward style. I'm not just a pinup model, but a pinup everyday and there is a difference in that. I didn't just decide one day to be a pinup and then was a pinup. I respectfully learned and embraced the life style behind the beautiful image so many are drawn to before I adopted it as my own. Becoming a true pinup takes more than red lipstick. You need to embody what women looked like years ago and what they can be again. I'm not just a pinup on the outside, but my heart and soul match the life style I love so much. I'm good at what I do because I took the time to appreciate it and learn about it out of complete love for it. I don't just dress pinup, I am pinup. Getting somewhere and becoming a professional paid pinup model well that's a whole other story and takes years and luck. Most pinups and even the well known ones aren't paid. We do it because we love it and it's our passion. 3 0

MOSH Photos by Tatiana Gerusova A rising start from Model Mayhem, Mosh has become an international fetish & ALT model. She is one of The most famous ALT models currently in the industry. She is also one of Pink Bow City Editor & Cheif's favorite models of all time! She is known for her spectacular poses & ability to contort her body to get eye-catching images. The ultimate sex-pot, Mosh will make you fall in love!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT MODELING & PERFORMING?

I'm usually working on designs and show preparations. I have a few lines in the works right now. When I'm not working, I enjoy shopping for antiques and vintage fashion. At home if I have time I like making little DIY things to help with my daily routines. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE MODERN DAY PINUP GIRL & WHY?

I love Bernie Dexter. She's just as sweet as she looks in her photos, and quite a businesswoman. I have a lot of respect for her.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ASPIRING PINUP MODELS?

Believe in yourself, emphasis on the 'be' and 'you'! HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME "MOSH"?

I've been called Mosh shortly after I was born, so it wasn't hard to come up with it for my stage name. In high school, I was part of a cheerleading squad where the name was somewhat revived, which was also around the time I started modeling. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FETISH?

When you're a fetishist, they're all your favorite!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE BOOKS & MOVIES?

One of my favorite books is Master and Margarita. I enjoy a lot of movies, primarily from the silver screen through the technicolor era, in addition to a few modern films. WHAT IS YOUR SECRET FOR MAINTAINING YOUR KILLER BODY?

No secret! Just some simple workouts from home when my workload is lighter, and my own shoots keep me fit.

HOW DO YOU DRESS WHEN YOU'RE NOT DOING PHOTO SHOOTS & WHAT MAKEUP DO YOU TYPICALLY USE?

My fashion preferences are vintage or vintage inspired. I love classic cuts and styles. I find the best, and most affordable vintage on eBay and at flea markets. For beauty or fashion tips, wear what makes you feel beautiful. Femininity is not about dressing one way or looking like the next girl, that goes for both modern fashion and vintage style. I like testing out a lot of different products! Right now I use a mixture of Dior, Lime Crime, Nars, and a few other brands. As for red lipsticks, right now I love Guerlain's Rouge G Lipstick in Garconne. Nars just came out with a voluptuous limited edition cherry shade, part of the Guy Bourdin collection, called "Future Red". I modeled for Lime Crime's Velvetines campaign, and I've made their "Red Velvet" shade a standard for shows, long shoots, and long trips. I keep two in my kit at all times! IF YOU WERE NOT AN ALTERNATIVE MODEL, WHAT ELSE COULD YOU SEE YOURSELF DOING PROFESSIONALLY?

I started going to school for graphics and business. Most likely I would have gone for some kind of career in design. CAN YOU DESCRIBE TO US WHAT YOUR BEDROOM LOOKS LIKE?

Ceiling to floor champagne drapes, 30s furniture set I purchased from the original owner back on the east coast. Ceylon blue floor and tufted velour vanity stools. Storage is a bit of a problem so I had to get creative again. I had my web assistant build a covered hat shelf that runs across the length of two walls, and also a lacquered "lingerie island" as I call it. Since storage is limited, I needed additional drawers and shelves for some of my collection. WHAT IS THE PROGRESS ON YOUR MAKE-UP LINE THAT YOU PLAN TO LAUNCH?

A few years ago I learned how to make my own lipsticks and loved wearing them. However keeping up with the quality in production and doing the packaging I would want proved to require more time than I had available. I certainly see a makeup line in the future, but I'd rather wait for the right time to do it, the way I envision it. In the meantime I just wear them myself.

ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON ANY OTHER PROJECTS?

I currently have a few major lines in the works that I can announce. I'm working on a line with Coffin Case which I'm very excited about. My other line is with Artwith Latex, we'll be releasing it early 2014. I'm doing a collaboration line with Collective Chaos. We've already released two pieces together, the "Ruffle Playsuit" and now the "Miss Venom" spiderweb set. We'll be releasing a full line in 2014. A smaller design collaboration I'm regularly working on are my lingerie pieces with Dotties Delight's. We released the "Mosh Playsuit", available online at dottiesdelights.com, and are working on a few other pieces as well.

Miss Rockabilly Ruby

My true passion in life has been my career as a retro hairdresser and makeup artist for the last eight years, and I’ve been using pinup modeling as another creative outlet for the last three years. I’ve been a vintage loving gal for as long as I can remember, I grew up in household where rockabilly and motown music were a constant staple in our everyday lives and I really didn’t know anything else. I was fortunate enough to have amazing parents that introduced me to things like vintage clothing and listening to Wanda Jackson when I was about 13 years old. I was the only kid in my high school to wear fully glittered vintage cat eye glasses.I was completely enamored with the style and sophistication of the 50’s. Women always left the house looking so put together and polished and I wanted to create that for myself in my everyday life. I attended the original Aveda Institute, in my hometown of Minneapolis,MN, where I was classically trained in cutting, coloring, styling, and makeup. I became obsessed with vintage hairstyling diagrams from 1950’s beauty school manuals that were given to us throughout the course of our training and I would practice them until I had the style down perfectly. After several years of giving the Midwest my best I decided to trade in my winter boots for a high waist bikini and relocated to Burbank, CA. I’m currently a hairdresser at Lola and Roxy’s Hair Studio (818260-9755) where I offer all cut, color, and styling services. If you want to be transformed into the perfect pinup then come visit me at the Pinup Girl Boutique (818-559-9586) for an amazing retro do and makeup to match! I love teaching my tricks of the trade to other passionate pinups so keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming vintage hair styling class dates at the Pinup Girl Boutique. Information can be found for these events on my Instagram @missrockabillyruby as well as on the Pinup Girl Clothing Facebook page and Instagram.
