MUSICAL THEATER

Cast NOTE DIRECTOR’S Boomers knew it as the Brown Album, an inspired attempt by two early twenty year olds from Britain, to harness the power of rock music to retell the Greatest Story Ever Told in a brash, hip way. 1970’s youth embraced this Rock Opera as a revelation. Iconographic individuals were transformed into real people. Heavy metal, jazz, rock ‘n roll and ‘classical’ music converged with unexpected impact. The album became a musical and the musical became a legend. Making Jesus Christ Superstar exciting and inspiring for a new generation, while honoring the past, determined the choices made in the show you will see tonight. Our gratitude is extended to you for taking this epic journey with us, especially at this time of year.

Please enjoy! Dr. Ken Gargaro Director, Jesus Christ Superstar Pittsburgh Musical Theater
