Ayr born defender Dave McAughtrie started out with Ayr Boys Club but then moved to England to play with top tier Stoke City from 1980-84 making 59 appearances for the Potters. He then moved down a Division to join Carlisle United in 1984 where he turned out 31 times for the Cumbrians. His next port of call was the Third Division York City where he played 80 games between 1985-87. He then signed for Darlington in the Fourth Division and played 80 games for the Quakers between 1987-89. He then played for Northwich Victoria and Bishop Auckland from where he signed for Town in 1990 making his debut on 12 January 1991 in the 0-0 draw at home to Irlam Town in the NPL Division One Cup. In two seasons at Wetherby Road, he made 49 appearances for Harrogate before moving to Goole Town.

Penrith born striker Jonny Allan began his career as a youth team player at Carlisle United and went on to play 32 games for the first team in the old Division Three between 2000-02 before moving on to Northwich Victoria. In two spells at Northwich he amassed over 200 appearances and scored 75 goals and was top scorer when they won the Conference North Division title 2006. In between, Allan spent a brief period at Halifax Town at the end of the 2003–04. In 2010 he moved to Gateshead from where he signed for Town in the Conference North in May 2011 making his debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Frickley Athletic in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round. He scored his first goal at Worcester City on his full debut and moved on in 2013 to join Celtic Nation FC. 30

Mark Beck 2012-15 Apps: 77 I Goals: 10 2017-date Apps: 79 (37) I Goals: 29 Current Town striker Mark Beck started his youth career in Carlisle United’s academy between 2010-12 and signed his first pro contract with the club in 2012. He went on to play 77 games in League One and Two for the Blues. Whilst there, he had loan spells at Workington and Falkirk before joining Yeovil Town in July 2015. In January 2016, Beck joined Wrexham on loan until the end of the season before signing for Darlington in August 2016 scoring 19 times in 57 games for the Quakers. Beck signed for Town in November 2017 making his debut that December in a 3-2 defeat at FC United of Manchester and has since been a key part in Town’s recent successes making well over 100 appearances in all competitions.
