Brief

A study on television broadcasting channel functionality. Their functions, process, and communication system in the industry.

During my study, I came across this technology called IPTV which is there in video broadcasting industry from last more than 5 years, with further research I came to know benefits and scope of such technology in India at the present scenario. It was one of the opportunities for me to go further in details and introduce this as a new brand which will be first of its kind. Globally there are around thirty IPTV providers in over sixty countries, currently Hong Kong, France, Taiwan and Belgium are leading the pack in terms of IPTV penetration. By 2020, Europe and North America will generate a larger share of global revenue, due to very low ARPUs in China and India, the fastest growing in Asia.


Based on the surveys IPTV challenges One of the biggest and most important factor for success of IPTV in any country is its infrastructure for broadband services and broadband penetration. The existing broadband infrastructure would have to be substantially upgraded, India’s broadband penetration is one of the lowest in the world and success of IPTV is directly dependant on Broadband penetration. Companies are playing safe and waiting to see the results of IPTV launch of some of the existing companies. Operators are waiting for the broadband infrastructure to grow and be IPTV ready. IPTV Infrastructure is not at par or as required for areas like Broadband/ transport infrastructure and technology, Favorable Regulations, Customer understanding of product proposition, Content readiness and cost, Unified standards development and Pricing and Promotions.

Future Outlook for IPTV in India IPTV is much beyond DTH when it comes to user generated content. Exclusivity of content and Differentiation will be key requirements for IPTV to be successful has gone beyond DTH potential to go beyond DTH when it comes to brining user Interactivity believes that wireless IPTV is going to be a revolution in India. IPTV is all about Interactivity, services from a cable or satellite operator are “pushed” into your home. The user has limited choice and has to keep on surfing channels for variety. Cable TV is a one-way communication where as IPTV provides for a two-way communication. User has complete control over the content he wishes to view. IPTV provides range of interactive services like customised channel views, programme flow, instant content sharing


Growth of over-the-top (OTT) video consumption poses a particular challenge to the growth of IPTV, which shares many functional attributes with internet video— such as time shifting, interactivity and on-demand program scheduling—but which currently still relies primarily on a subscription-based revenue model.

Future scope

How can we improvise ? Currently, in India, we all have seen a remarkable growth in internet usage and increase in the bandwidth speed with a reduction in cost per user. Jio has drastically changed the meaning and situation of the internet in India from past few months and there have been a lot of changes in other internet providers. As per the news and report, there is a hope of changing it more further and overcome a lot of boundaries in the internet world in India in upcoming years. So, basically Ideal TV collaborating with this kind of service provider can create a good impact and competition for other brands in the same industry.

Launch of Netflix and Amazon Prime in India few months back has created scope for Ideal TV to capture the aduience and increase the viewership to such entertainment content. Can be installed on basic television screens no need of spending on expensive screens. It is a Smart choice for people who can’t afford smart TVs .

Internet providers are not supporting or willing to collaborate.

Many people believe to have more trust on DTH connection and are satisfied with less content and benefits.

Lack of awareness in the audience is one of the problem.

Still lack of deployment in the infrastructure and technology growth. OTT will be a threat to IPTV technology.

Catch up Tv is something where audience can catch up last 7 days of their favourite shows and broadcast which have been missed. Recordings of videos and clips are also available which users have commanded.

Stream is an online video streaming service by Ideal TV for exploring VOD application like youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime. This will be very usefull for young audience as they can stream unlimited online videos.

Ideal TV is an Indian based company which focus on TVstyle content delivery via internet protocol directly to the consumer. They are based in video entertainment broadcasting organization.

They are paid subscription service direct from the telecom company or ISP, much like cable or DTH. Works on a closed network. It is to enhance the level of excellence in the entertainment distribution system.

Ideal TV brand identity plays a major role in communication with the audience about a innovative technology which is a smart choice for anyone.

The brand look gives you a impression of a techno feel, with something fresh idea. A waves pattern is created around the identity symbol and a fresh new sqarish looks & proportion is intensionally planned.


It is designed to be a little eye-catching yet legible. It has clear and distinguishable letter-forms, which helps to elaborate and emphasis the message. It is graphically strong and command viewers attention. The overall appearance of type is suitable in setting it as heading, title, headline, etc.

AmpleSoft is a display type family, optical mono linear and a bit squarish in nature. It has smooth curve instead of sharp angle formed by the junction of two strokes, which is a prominent feature of its design.

Website look A final look of the website is designed with combination of typography & images. A well played balanced is been created throughout the look.



Television Interface Similar like website wireframing, television screens were also sketched & layout was created with a goal of simple user flow & easy usabilty.


Television Interface Interface is simple and during the interaction design easy operation with limited number of buttons on the remote was kept on mind. Each screens can be navigated with minimum keys on the remote and user flow is much better from existing operators designs.


Catch up TV feature is something which is not available in any other connection. It is something unique and advance feature we find in Ideal TV.

In catch up audience can catch up last 7 days of broadcast shows anytime. And also a particular recoreded clips are available here.
