Plaid Cymru Manifesto 2015 Easy read
This is our manifesto It tells you what we believe in and what we will do for Wales if you vote for us
We are Plaid Cymru.
Our leader is Leanne Wood.
On 7 May 2015 people will vote in an election to choose the UK Government. The UK is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The UK Government makes some laws and decisions for Wales.
We want the very best for Wales.
This manifesto document tells you:  what we believe in  what we will do if you vote for us

A better economy (Things like money and jobs) The main things we will work for
Wales making more of its own decisions. And people in Wales having a much bigger say about who makes decisions for Wales.
Making the economy in Wales much better. For example:  making it easier for businesses and people who work for themselves to do well
 making sure Wales gets a fair share of money from the UK and making proper rules about this
 making many more jobs for people We will give more work to companies in Wales and make a plan about new jobs

A better economy (Things like money and jobs) The main things we will work for
Making towns much better with better transport and more health centres.
Better rights for people who work. For example: making sure people earn enough to live on. This is called a living wage
making work fairer and stopping unfair rules. For example, bosses who get paid lots of extra money in a company
Better help for people to find a job. This means disabled people as well.
Fairer tax rules. For example, people who earn more than £150,000 a year paying a bit more tax. And more help with National Insurance tax for people who earn less. 4
Better healthcare and support The main things we will work for
1000 more doctors in Wales. And seeing a doctor more quickly.
Making it easier for people to get healthcare and other support they may need.
More help at home for very ill people.
Making sure the NHS is not run by private companies.
Better care for people who need support with their mental health.
Making it easier for people to do sport and get fit.
Using computers and other technology more to make healthcare better. 5
Better education The main things we will work for
Better training for teachers and more time for them to teach.
A good education for every child at good schools.
Children doing education or training until they are 18.
Better support and checks for schools that are doing badly.
A better education for children in things like: reading, writing, numbers and computers Welsh history and language other languages treating everyone fairly
More help for poorer children and children who need more support.
Making university education easier to afford. Better training and support for young people. 6
Making Wales fairer The main things we will work for
Making benefits fairer. Benefits is money some people can get from the Government. For example, we will stop unfair benefits like the bedroom tax. This is when some people get less housing money because of the number of bedrooms they have.
Helping to stop families and older people being poor. For example, we want better pensions and more help for people to afford food and heating for their homes.
Making voting fairer. We want to change the voting age to 16. And change the way people vote to make it work in a fairer way.
Making sure everyone in Wales is treated fairly. 7
Better housing The main things we will work for
Stopping rent being too high. And better rights for people who rent homes. This is when you pay money to live in a home that someone else owns.
More help for people to buy their first home.
More council houses and homes for people who earn less.
Using some money that is paid to the UK Government at the moment for homes in Wales.
Turning empty buildings into homes.
More help to stop people becoming homeless. 8
Making Wales safer The main things we will work for
Wales being in charge of its own police and courts.
Better ways to work with people who do crimes to stop them doing it again.
More help for victims of crime.
Doing more to stop violence at home.
Better support for people who have a drug problem and need help to get better.
Doing more to stop crimes like terrorism.
Supporting human rights laws that make sure people are treated fairly.
No nuclear weapons for Wales. 9
A better world The main things we will work for
Everyone in the world to be treated fairly.
Stopping bad things happening in the world, like people being forced to work or have sex with people.
Making sure gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people get their rights.
Helping people in the world who really need it. For example, if wars or bad things happen.
Saying it is OK for people from other countries to come to Wales and do jobs that will help us.
Making the European Union work better for Wales. The European Union is a group of countries that make decisions and laws about Europe.

Better transport The main things we will work for
Better roads, railways, airports and ports.
No private companies in charge of the trains. All trains to run by electricity by the year 2034.
Making it cheaper to use the Severn Bridges.
Fair petrol prices.
Keeping free bus passes and free bus services.
Keeping buses in the countryside. They are called Bwcabuses.

Making Wales better for the environment The environment is the earth, the seas, the countryside and other things around us. It is important to keep the environment safe.
The main things we will work for Getting our heat and electricity in ways that are better for the environment.
Making a new law about the environment.
Helping houses and businesses run in a better way for the environment.
More recycling and help for supermarkets to put food in better bags and boxes.
Support for farms and food that is grown in local areas. 12
Proud of being Welsh The main things we will work for
Making sure the Welsh language is still spoken.
More TV programmes made in Wales.
Keeping local newspapers.
Making sure everyone can enjoy things like art, music, museums and dance.
