Screendance Spring in Cerdanyola del Vallès
#CScreen16
Spring 2016 Program
THE [C]SCREEN FESTIVAL [C]SCREEN is a festival organized for the town of Cerdanyola del Vallès by the [PLAT ARTSTIC] cultural initiative. Its main goal is to show the latest cinematographic trends from all around the world, with quality films in a wide budget range. In addition, it aims to sensitize those who are unfamiliar with or less informed about new ways of making cinema. The festival is presented in two parts, in two opposite year periods: in spring with screendance sessions and in autumn with the rest of fiction films.
SPRING: SCREENDANCE Screendance is a hybrid genre resulting from the synergy between dance and audiovisual (specially cinema and video). It has been named in many ways but the most important common point is the same: interest in the recorded movement, rather than dialogue or music, as a mean of expression of a concept, and adding an extra signification layer with audiovisual means. On the occasion of the International Dance Day (April 29th), [C]Screen takes the month of April to invite you to know this genre in seven sessions. You will be able to enjoy recent and very interesting works from all around the world.
For this first spring edition of the festival, we have counted on three very special women creators:
Marta Kosieradzka
Choreographer and dancer Joint creator with Eva CamposSuárez from [Plat Artístic]. From Warsaw, she has been part of the jury in this first edition.

LA IGNORANCIA is an artistic producer directed by the choreografer and director Ana Cembrero Coca and co-founded with the cinematographer and musician Jorge Piquer Rodriguez. The [C]Screen festival benefits from their collaboration this year and we are very happy to screen their latest production EUROPE ENDLESS. We invite you to discover their work on their website: http://www.laignorancia.com/en/
Lost Archive (2013) Shortfilm shot specially for the Nuit Blanche in the archives of Brussels, a building closed to the public where the characters live, among souvenirs and memories, among forgotten texts and documents.
Europe Endless (2014) Portrait of a day in the European Parliament and the surrounding area in the city of Brussels. The characters dance, run and glide through the empty spaces in an atmosphere beyond time, decontextualized, in an architectural “non-site”.
