SevettijärviisthecentreoftheSkoltSámiareabothinpopulationandtraditions. SevettijärviwasfoundedwhenSkoltfamilieswereevacuatedfromPetsamoto Sevettijärvi,bringingtheirSkoltSámiculturewiththem.

Sevettijärviislocatedinthefurthestnorth-easterncornerofFinnishLapland. Itisonlyahalf-an-hour-drivefromthelivelybordervillageofNäätämö. DuetothenearbyriverNäätämöjoki,theareaisafavouritespotforfishermen. NorwayisnearbyanditiseasytocombinearoadtriptotheshoresoftheArctic OceanwithyourvisittoNäätämöandSevettijärvi.
