Coast to Coast Run 3rd July 16 First ever ride for this one, organised by Pete Batten to help celebrate the clubs 20th Anniversary. Timed for when we should be guaranteed good weather, if you have never ridden this road then you have missed a jolly good ride. Bideford is a lovely place to end up for a ride, stop for a cuppa and a cream tea before a leisurely ride back home. Great day out.

DREAM NIGHT AT THE ZOO The third year PMC has been asked if we would like to bring some bikes to an event at Dartmoor Zoo as an additional attraction for disabled children, their siblings and of course parents and carers. A real family event with guided tours around the Zoo, entertainers, live music and the traditional buffet with unlimited drinks for all. So who attended, which was an invitation event in case you are saying “ didn’t know about that”. The first to arrive was Gordon with his Falcon a Citroen CV based three wheeler who helped me put up the PMC banner. Now as you all know Tigers are usually solitary animals in the wild but at around 1840 the roar was heard of not one but five tigers as they made their way up the long lane from the main road to the event site followed by John Mac on his Blackbird. You can imagine the excitement from the guests as Steve Drew on his 1050, Jeff Snell and Alan Bunce on their XRx’s, Geoff Williamson on Explorer, Dave Robinson 1050 Sports and of course as previously mentioned not forgetting John Mac on CBRxx . The guys were great showing the bikes and talking to the guests, real professionals. We all had a walk around the Zoo with special interest taken with the tiger who was kind enough or maybe recognised fellow “tigers” (pun intended) to raise his head for a photo shoot. I asked the guys if they wanted to go in with the tiger for a group shot the reply was not printable here. Mike Downman the curator at the Zoo expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Club and to the guys for attending with animal themed bikes with a note to Cheyenne wishing him well in his caring role. With a standing invitation to attend next years DREAM NIGHT AT THE ZOO. We will invite more people next year. Many thanks again you guys. Steve Ford

Big thanks to Daytona designs for the flyer

CLUB VISIT TO WAYPOINTS CARE HOME ON SATURDAY 11th JUNE. Waypoints care home is just up the road from the clubroom, at the top of Ernesettle Lane, and a few of the elderly residents were telling Maria (their events arranger) how they rode motorcycles in their youth. This led to Maria contacting The Club and inviting us along to a barbeque. The wet weather in May meant that the original visit was cancelled, but June 11th was fine & sunny so eight bikes with nine people rode in as a group and created great interest from the residents. One elderly gent, who rode a Triumph in his youth thought all our bikes were "smashing". Hamburgers & hot-dogs were prepared by the homes chef & we were made very welcome by Maria & the staff. Maria rang a few days after the event to thank Don, Margaret, Roger, Kelvin, Steve, Jill, Tony, David & Mac for giving up their time for the visit. cheers, Steve

MSC Motorcycles Air Ambulance Charity ride 26.06.16 Today at MSC we had our charity ride for the Air Ambulance, for once the weather was on our side and 84 bikes left Lee Mill heading towards Buckfast on the A38. After passing Buckfast and Ashburton we followed the river Dart, through Poundsgate and up onto the moor, where the views are stunning, it was a good day to be on a bike, we carried on dropping down past Dartmeet and onto Two Bridges where we turned left heading towards Princetown, all I could see in my mirrors was motorbikes stretching back as far as I could see, always a good sight. Once we had passed Princetown it was onto Dousland, again a beautiful part of the Moor, left through Meavy, over Cadover Bridge and onto Plympton to finish at MSC Motorcycles where we have a large car park where we are able to put on a display of the bikes that we ride as well as some classic machines, a burger bar, the PMCC stand and everyone can park safely. I would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen and all who attended Ride Safe Ride Free Mark MSC

HELP NEEDED Help needed for this years MegaRide on August 21th. Volunteers are needed on the Hoe and at Lee Mill There are various jobs that we need volunteers for either in the Morning or in the afternoon or both. For those who arrive at Lee Mill between 7-7.30am breakfast will be provided at Buds Cafe (Please see me for a drinks voucher first) and for those volunteering on the Hoe a meal voucher to use at C+G catering outlets will be provided. Please speak to myself or Sue on any club night or email me ritchbounds@sky.com Thank You PMCC visit to Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, These young lads are our future members - they are very interested in bikes & asked lots of questions. I told them about how the Club was formed in 1996 and our aims; covering such things as our support for The Mega Ride & Plymouth Bike Nights and our ride-outs such as the Cornish Triangle & Coast to Coast etc. Also covered our support for several charity events .I took along some photos showing the sort of bikes I rode when I was a teenager - the moped pictures created a bit of a laugh! After the Q & A session inside we went outside to look at my bike - I rode my Triumph Tiger 1050 - and this really stirred their interest with lots of questions about its performance and distances travelled & places visited. They seemed genuinely interested in all aspects of motorcycling and have already arranged visits later this week to Plymouth Speedway & to GT Motorcycles. Steve Drew
