What is The ELIMINATE Project? The ELIMINATE Project is a partnership between Kiwanis International and UNICEF to combat Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus around the entire world. Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus or MNT is caused by deadly toxins found in dirt and is usually transmitted to children during unsanitary child labor. MNT kills a baby every eleven minutes or 49,000 babies per year. What can you do? Join the Pacific Northwest District in our 2015 goal of $50,000! 2015-2016 Key Club International Board President: Rip Livingston

Vice President: Addie Clipfell

International Convention 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana was a blast! This year, the celebration of 100 years of Kiwanis and 90 years of Key Club opened up my eyes to this great organization as a whole. Seeing all parts of KFamily come together as a whole made me realize how truly thankful I am to be part of this organization. Staring off with the meet and greet to the opening session, the long hours of House of Delegate and Caucusing, Kiwanis celebration baseball game, closing session, and to the final Hello goodbye Concert, it was a great opportunity to meet Key Clubbers and Kiwanis members around the world. I will never forget the new friendships I made with the people I met. Electing the new Key Club International Board for next year was also an opportunity I will never forget. It was amazing to see how truly passionate and service minded people were for this organization. I laughed, smiled, learned, and made many memories that I won’t forget. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have gone to International Convention this year and represent Pacific Northwest (BEST)!

The 2015 Key Club International Convention celebrated the 90th birthday of Key Club and the 100th birthday of Kiwanis, and was amazing. ICON is similar to DCON in that it was full of interesting and fun workshops, as well as amazing people, but different in many ways. First, it is smaller than PNW DCON, but you can meet people from even farther away. Did you know that PNW and Eastern Canada are besties? Second, International House of Delegates is far more intense compared to DCON’s HoD, a fact that this year’s HoD Committee is working to change. This years HoD also passed some amendments that affect the club District levels, and which I will explain at the July DCM. And third, The Pacific Northwest District is the best District around!

Stuart Sardo Lieutenant Governor of Division 44

The experience to get a ICON is almost like a DCON on steroids. The very first day we were running around "moosing" people at the meet and greet to show them some PNW love. While we had a lot of similar things like a recognition session, and talent show we had the opportunity to share 2 sessions with the whole Kiwanis Family. We elected our new International Board and were gladly known as the room that grilled candidates during caucusing. We learned about how far a simple hug can go from Tim, and saw Maria pledge 3 million dollars to the Eliminate project. It was amazing to see the scope of Kiwanis International and to be surrounded by so many adults that believed in what Key Club is doing. ICON was a friendly reminder that as a Kiwanis Family we are filled with servant leaders ready to change the world. Andrea Diep Lieutenant Governor of Division 33
