Benetti announces sale of 70m

Italian superyacht builder Benetti, has announced the sale of a new custom build 70 metre displacement yacht hull number FB270, named Project 169. It is the 7th contract signed by the yard in the last 12 months for units over 50m. So far Benetti is yet to release details about the project, but it is the work of the yardâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s in-house designers with considerable input from the experienced owner and his personal design team.

With a top speed of 17.5 knots (20 mph), the privately owned II·II can accommodate 12 guests across six cabins. With tons of marble and stainless steel accents, the décor has a very distinct art deco inspiration. The double and single accomodations all include en-suite facilities with Italian marble and bespoke Lalique crystal taps. The VIP suite ups the ante with a study area, walk-in wardrobe and six full-height windows for natural light, while the Master suit offers 180-degree views over the bow.

Thanks to its twin CAT 3512C engines, the yacht has a range of 5,000 nautical miles while cruising at 15 knots (17 mph).

Benetti’s superyacht Mr. D (41.93m) to make U.S. debut

According to Benetti, superyacht Mr. D will make her U.S. debut at the next Miami Boat Show. The vessel was completed last summer. She is the 5th hull in Italian shipyard Benetti’s Crystal 140 series after Lady M, Soy Amor, Luna and My Johanna Stefano Righini was responsible for designing her exterior and Ezequiel Farca designed her interior. The superyacht can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 luxurious cabins, including the big owner’s suite on the main deck. She can also accommodate 7 crew members in 4 cabins. The owner’s suite features large windows stretching from the floor to the ceiling, which provide spectacular views.

Benetti sells 70m FB270 # February 26 Benetti has sold a new custom built 70 metre displacement yacht. Hull number FB270, named Project 169, is the seventh contract for a yacht over 50 metres that Benetti has signed in the last 12 months. The Owner’s design team has had signiﬁcant involvement in the concept of this yacht. Fabio Ermetto, CCO at Benetti, said: “Benetti has consolidated its reputation as a reference point for all those owners with vast experience in the yachting market – as with the Owner of Project 169 – that turn to us with very special requests for speciﬁc designs based on his long standing yachting experience, never compromising the highest levels of operation and performance.”

Related News At the annual Azimut Benetti YachtMaster collaboration of superyacht captains, it seems crew quality is the order of the day. Speaking on stage as part of a series of interviews during the event, Captain Bruce Handyside, master of successful 50m charter vessel JO, explains that the secret to his success is the quality of the crew working for him. While being lucky enough to work for a personable owner, who is regularly on board to encourage the team, he said the key factor was his "motivated crew." Acknowledging how tough the Mediterranean season is for a busy charter yacht, "it's important to pick your crew well", he said. "Our crew is fantastic and they get on well off the boat. The crew is the key to our success (which equates to 80 per cent repeat business) and I put this down to the continuity of crew."

The Yachmaster event brings together captains from around the world The subject of crew quality, which increasingly appears to be a thorn in the industry's side, continued into the afternoon 'Crew Management' workshop, led by Benetti's Alessandro Gallifuoco, John Cook and Andrew Schofield. The attendant captains were asked for their preferred recruitment method in a sector plagued by short-termism. And ironically, despite the demand for greater quality, the majority opinion was that 'gut feeling' and personal interaction were still the key factors in choosing crew. Fraser Yachts' executive chairman imparted his substantial experience from the commercial realm, highlighting the effectiveness of psychometric testing, "when you want to turn a number two into a number one", a view echoed by Cook. And this was an important point: the crucial consideration in this process is acquiring an individual that is motivated by a career in crewing, not just the fastest route to a master's ticket. However, there was something of a consensus among the captains that recruitment services did not provide the same level of scrutiny as a traditional one-on-one. The feeling was that personal interaction is key to ascertaining how someone will respond in a crisis. Opinion remained divided on whether personality should win out over technical proficiency and qualifications. It seems then, that in an industry traditionally driven by networking and relationships, the route to getting the best person for the job is still very much down to the individual captain.

Benetti has today announced the successful sale of a 70 metre new-build yacht named Project 169 - the 7th contract signed in the last 12 months for units over 50 metres. Further details will be emerging as the project progresses, but until then we’ve been provided with an insight into a preview design by the Benetti in-house team with considerable input from the experienced owner and his personal design team. “Benetti has consolidated its reputation as a reference point for all those owners with vast experience in the yachting market - as with the Owner of Project 169 - that turn to us with very special requests for specific designs based on his long standing yachting experience, never compromising the highest level of operation and performance,” explains Fabio Ermetto, CCO at Benetti. “This is - in addition - the result of our consolidated financial strength developed through the years by earning the trust of clients around the globe.”

Azimut|Benetti Yachtmaster report: Crew key to success William Mathieson At the annual Azimut Benetti YachtMaster collaboration of superyacht captains, it seems crew quality is the order of the day. Speaking on stage as part of a series of interviews during the event, Captain Bruce Handyside, master of successful 50m charter vessel JO, explains that the secret to his success is the quality of the crew working for him. While being lucky enough to work for a personable owner, who is regularly on board to encourage the team, he said the key factor was his "motivated crew." Acknowledging how tough the Mediterranean season is for a busy charter yacht, "it's important to pick your crew well", he said.

Coming in at 295’3” (90 meters), Benetti’s (http://www.benettiyachts.it) FB262 is in the water with her name visible: Lionheart. Lionheart was seen cradled on a barge and then floating on her own bottom on diﬀerent days outside of Benetti’s Livorno, Italy facility last week. Benetti has not commented on the launch. Scant details are known about the project. In looking at the images of her here, though, she appears to have a fixed balcony forward on the main deck. This could be contained within the master suite. The uppermost deck of Lionheart seems to have walls of windows forward, complementing oversize eye-shaped ports to each side. An additionally shapely inset of glass is below decks, near the swim platform. Overall, there’s an abundance of big glass panes, in keeping with modern trends.

The interior of Lionheart, by the studio Green & Mingarelli Design (http://www.greenandmingarelli.com), contains an elevator connecting the four decks. Information on decor and layout is not available. Considering a same-named, 207-foot (63-meter) megayacht was built by Benetti in 2006, the new megayacht is surely for repeat customers. They’re well-known customers at that: Sir Philip Green and Lady Tina Green. The former is a UK-based retail magnate. The latter is the “Green” in Green & Mingarelli Design. One more noteworthy fact: Lionheart now outranks Kingdom 5KR as the biggest Benetti yacht built to date. The latter is 262 feet (86 meters). Delivery of the new yacht should take place this spring. Since the previous Lionheart (now known as Lioness V) was available for charter, perhaps this one will be starting over the summer, too.

A repartitioning of the lower deck made it possible, thanks also to an extremely functional engine room that offers more space for guest cabins, four in all, two with double beds and two with twin beds, and for the crew area, featuring unheard-of volumes for the comfort of the staff on board. The main deck is the true beating heart of the boat: with a large living area with a central sofa and comfortable armchairs and a bar area, it is the ideal place for relaxing. The main saloon is capped by the dining area, where you’ll 6nd an elegant table with seating for eight in classic style. Amidships, the foyer with stairs leading to the other levels. Continuing along toward the bow takes you to the owner’s cabin, set off by full-height windows that offer stunning views of the sea, whether underway or at anchor: the place where everyone wants to be. The upper deck is dedicated to the living area: at the stern, two game tables are surrounded by openable glass doors that close to form a semicircle with a striking view of the horizon. Closing the glass doors it is possible isolate this zone from the exterior and provide climate control. The Crystal measures 42 metres in length and 9 metres in width at full beam. Its displacement is 375 tonnes. The engines are twin Cat C32 Acer delivering 1081 kW. And with a fuel reserve of 64,550 litres, the Crystal has a conventional oceanic range of 4,000 miles, which places it among authentic â&#x20AC;&#x153;navettaâ&#x20AC;? that are capable of travelling around the world and exploring locales where autonomy and spending long periods without refuelling becomes essential. Maximum speed at half load is 15 knots, with 14 knots possible at 85% power. Lateral stability is assured by a fairly broad hull and by the 6ns in the Naiad Stabilization @ Anchor system, which is also capable of functioning when the yacht is at anchor. On-board systems are equipped with state-of-the-art Benetti technology, which allows centralised control, including remotely, of all on-board electrical and electronic equipment, as well as all boat systems, by monitoring operating status and reporting any anomalies. The touch-screen interfaces are extremely user friendly and intuitive. Particular attention was paid to the design of the wheelhouse based on innovative integrated architecture that, thanks to LCD monitors with latest generation of touch-screen functionality and ergonomic controllers, has made it possible to reinstate all functions in a single control panel, resulting in an ef6cient console with an avant-garde look and functionality.

Eventually they named two joint winners – Nikata and Topaz. “Because redrawing a classic yacht to meet a modern racing rule is a rare task, the jury chose to award a second naval architecture prize to Topaz,” they explained. In the motor yacht categories, the naval architecture for a yacht under 500GT went to Alia Yachts’ Rüya, who also won the Interior design and layout award for motor yachts below 500GT. Benetti Iron Man scooped up the gong for the best naval architecture on a semi-displacement motor yacht, whilst Heesen Sibelle won a Neptune for her AB Studio/Omega Architects-designed exterior.

The tender design award was awarded to the 11.4m limo tender Embarked on Infinity. Designed by Michael Peters and builder Hogdon Yachts, with naval architecture also by Michael Peters, this tender beat 11 other entries to steal the Neptune. The full list of winners, with comments from the jury, is online. The Young Designer of the Year Award, in association with Oceanco, went to Baoxi Xiao, for his Cercio concept. Despite 28 very high quality entries, it was Xiao’s ability to accurately meet the brief that earned him the accolade. The judges particularly admired the clear presentation and well-executed hand-drawn sketches. They also felt the originality and harmony of the exterior styling blended well with a highly competent general arrangement plan and understanding of the client’s lifestyle. The Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by Centtrip, honoured naval architect Frits de Voogt. “Henk de Vries believes Frits de Voogt made modern day Feadship possible,” explains Marilyn Mower. “Frits shrugs off such notions by talking teamwork.” Boat International Media takes this opportunity to acknowledge all of the sponsors and partners of the 2016 ShowBoats Design Awards who have helped to make the event a resounding success. The yacht owner’s designers worked closely with Benetti’s in-house team to fashion clean and contemporary interior spaces dressed in a palette that pairs gray hues with vivid splashes of color. Large fashion photographs hung throughout the yacht add a sense of glamour to Panthera’s uncluttered interiors. The main-deck saloon is outfitted with fabrics and lamps from Armani Casa, and long banks of windows flood the room with natural light. Two opposing sofas stretch most of the length of the space and encourage socializing, while a silver side table preserves the main deck’s open layout by separating the saloon from the ship’s dining area.

The superyacht features a plumb bow which allows for an increased dynamic tendency to literally cut through the water waves. Spacious enough to accommodate 12 guests in six lavish cabins, the mega yacht favours two ample and plush owner’s cabins, one on the full beam main deck, the second on the upper deck, with private access to the pool and solarium deck. 2016 Yachts Miami Beach: Where to Be

Island Gardens on Watson Island From Feb. 11-16, there will be two boat shows in the Miami area, but only one will be showing posh, top of the industry yachts youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve really been wanting to view up close. Previously known as The Yacht and Brokerage Show, Yachts Miami Beach will continue to line the Indian Creek waterway with gorgeous hulls stocked with stunning interiors. The show will also make use of the new deepwater superyacht facilities at Island Gardens on Watson Island, with spaces that will accommodate yachts up to 500 feet in length. Friday, Feb. 11, is preview day, with prime time viewing of the yachts and a more leisurely stroll along the docks. The show runs 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm on Monday. The Miami International Boat Show has moved from its neighboring location at the convention center to the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin site on Virginia Key.

"Chrimi III"; The Latest Benetti Supreme 132 The latest Benetti Supreme 132 motoryacht has been launched by the Italian yard and currently represents the seventh hull in that series to-date. Her name is reported to be "Chrimi III" and built as BS007. Nothing is surprising with the design as that has been penned by Stefano Righini while the interior has been done by Alessandro Pulina in partnership with Benetti's in-house team. No other specifics about BS007 are known at this point.

However, the standard Benetti Supreme 132 has three internal decks (lower, main and upper) and usually have a salon aft on the main deck, owner accommodation forward on the main deck, guest accommodation on the lower deck and an entertainment lounge on the upper deck plus the sundeck at the highest point. 90-meter Superyacht "Lionheart" Launches At Benetti Italian yard Benetti Yachts recently launched their first superyacht of 2016. The new yacht is also their largest build representing a 90-meter superyacht built for a repeat client of the yard. Her name is "Lionheart" and those of us who follow these yachts very closely would know who she belongs to. However, we do not disclose names here but we can tell you that she is the successor to the owner's 63-meter, 2006-built Benetti formerly of the same name. That yacht is presently called "Lioness V". As for the new yacht, she was built under hull ID FB262 and even though the identity of the yacht is well known, information about the yacht itself isnt't.

The massive yacht is now the largest built by the Italian yard slightly Trumping (no pun) the 86-meter "Kingdom 5KR". Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure the new Lionheart represents very stylish and sweeping lines. The owner's last yacht was nice in design but more of the typical yacht you expected from them at the time. The new yacht is leaps and bounds ahead on styling! Above the waterline, the new Lionheart rises four full decks. The previous 63-meter has a lower, main and upper with an open sun deck. The 90meter yacht has that with an enclosed area on the sundeck midships -likely to be where a gym might be-. Nothing else is known for sure about this build but she does seem to have nice attributes like the built-in alcove-like balcony off what we presume to be a full-beam master suite on the forward main deck. There also seems to be a tender garage forward of the suite in the bow. That would lend to the assumption that the fancy-laid glass on the aft lower deck is an expansive beach club. Benetti Launches Its Largest Yacht To Date

Benetti’s most recent launch, 90-meter (295-foot-3-inch) Lionheart—the builder’s largest yacht to date—was spotted recently in Livorno. Built for a repeat client, Lionheart will be delivered later this year. The client took delivery of a 63-meter (207-foot) Benetti of the same name back in 2006. That vessel is now known as Lioness V. Lionheart overtakes Benetti’s 86-meter Kingdom 5KR, which launched in 1980, as the builder’s largest launch to date. Throughout the construction period, the project has been well protected from the public, although it is now known that Stefano Natucci and Benetti collaborated on the exterior design, while Green & Mingarelli Design handled the interior, which contains an elevator connecting the four decks. No other information is known at time of press. From the looks of her, Lionheart casts a rather sporty appearance, with a curvy superstructure comprising all four decks. The bow contains a control room and the commander’s cabin, while outside we find a large area with open-air sofas. On the sun deck, we find a spacious surface for relaxing and sunbathing. You’ll also find a reference to days gone by, a reassuring symbol of sea and navigation: the smoke stack. In order to show that on this new and modern boat, everything still tastes of sea and salt.
