Worthington Cylinder Identification Instructions Read entire instruction before proceeding! Identification of cylinder is an easy matter when you have the following information. Basic Information, All cylinders: 1. Cylinder Rating. a. Cylinders are either 350 psi or 400psi. b. Codes: DOT 4BA350 or DOT 4BA400 (could be 4BW) stamped on collar. 2. Manufacturer a. All cylinders are stamped with manufacturer or Mfg Code. 3. Manufacture Date a. All cylinders are stamped with a Mfg Date. 4. Serial Number a. Every cylinder has a unique Serial Number stamped on the collar. 5. Retest date a. Retest date may be stamped on collar. 6. Tare Weight a. Tare weight is stamped on collar. Usually stamped T.W. It may be in pounds or in kilograms 7. Hydrotest or “E” Stamp date a. If the cylinder has gone beyond its first test date it needs to be hydrotested and if it has been hydrotested it will have a unique supplemental stamp on the collar. b. Cylinder must be hydrotested every 12 years after manufacture date. c. Cylinder has to be “E” inspected every 5 years after manufacture date. d. Hydrotest will supersede an “E” inspection.
