B RU TA Bruta is a London based fashion label founded by Arthur Yates in 2015. With no formal fashion training but an artist’s background, Yates builds his collections around art, culture and traditional crafts. Bruta is a brand which encompasses loose fitting, casual shirting with hand drawn designs for both men and women, challenging both the conventions of gendered dressing as well as the formality of the shirt. Designs are printed or embroidered, and take inspiration from patterns and motifs found in both traditional and contemporary arts and crafts. All details are imagined and hand drawn by Yates. Yates also hand paints urns and pots that complement and are sold alongside the Bruta shirts. bruta.eu ¡ @bruta_

C H A M P I O N R E V E RS E W E AV E Formed in 1919 as the Knickerbocker Knitting Company by Abe and Bill Fainbloom. The company pioneered the manufacture of heavy duty cotton products, used primarily for warming up and down by athletes who had historically used lightweight day attire for sporting activities. In the 1940s the company changed its name to Champion Knitting Mills and became market leaders in sporting cotton apparel. In 1952 they patented their Reverse Weave heavy cotton knitting process, essentially knitting the cotton backwards they found the solution that avoids vertical shrinkage. Which then gave the garment more durability wash after wash, cornering the US sporting market. Through this sporting association Champion was adopted by many of the US Hip Hop and Rap pioneers through the 80s and was influential in European club culture in the 90s. It has remained a staple wardrobe, leading to collaborations with Stussy and most recently Supreme which have reinvigorated the brands premium marketspace. @championeu_ Store: HBX ¡ hbx.com Photographer: Alex CH Lau / HBX Stylist: Alana Tsui / HBX

Present in both fabric and form, the brand's aesthetic embraces and exploits cross-conventional styling to capture the brand's hallmark 'IndiviDUALITY'… refined cuts with bold expression, creating polished street styles which are contemporary-classic, poised + playful. Premium tailoring, attention to detail, and custom fabrications are pillars of the brand’s Menswear and Womenswear Collections, seen on the runways of Paris, New York, Seoul and Singapore Fashion Weeks. dzojchen.com · @dzojchen

M c L AU R E N Founded in 1962, McLauren has long been a famous knitwear brand. However, in the 1990s all traces were lost of the fine handmade Shetland creations, until an Italian entrepreneur, mindful of the brand’s heritage and tradition, decided to relaunch it. Having produced knitted garments for Lanvin, Missoni, D&G and more, they are creating a handmade product using only the best yarns with Italian craftsmanship. Today McLauren’s collections are 100% made in Italy and redesigned in a contemporary key which is translated into fine elegance, which combines retro style with innovation. Every McLauren garment resembles a tailor-made item, not a mass produced one. Some models are still woven by patient hands, the custodians of ancient skills. McLauren can be found in some of the best stores globally including United Arrows, Beams and Isetan. @mclauren1962

RO C K I N S M A I N L I N E Pioneers of Rock’n’Roll Luxe, Rockins are releasing their debut clothing range, Mainline. Best known for their line of 70s inspired skinny scarves seen adorning the necks of everyone from Kate Moss to Keith Richards, Rockins embrace the unconventional and lead the way in vintage inspired fashion with a heavy dose of rebel attitude. Taking inspiration from the era they hold so dear, Rockins Mainline is an entirely unique collection of non-stretch denim, tees and shirts. Founders Jess Morris and Tim Rockins are calling for a reeducation on denim. Tired of identikit stretch jeans that have lined our wardrobes for many years, the pair are promoting a return to authentic, un-pretentious fashion. Think Debbie Harry in her Levi's 505s or Joan Jett rocking out in heavy-weight, structured jeans; these are icons for a new generation of denim style. Rockins Mainline harks back to an age of authenticity. This collection is defined by the romance and purity of denim; from putting your jeans on in the bath for the perfect fit, to picking them up off the bedroom floor the next morning, the Rockins brand conjures up a story with every piece. With expertly crafted vintage-inspired designs, originality seems more relevant than ever before. rockins.co.uk · @rockinshq
