ICONIC
David Garrett Pays Tribute to the Iconic Violinists of the Golden Age
The new album ICONIC includes more than twenty tracks and is set for release in all formats on 4th November 2022.
Cover Story
David Garrett
Photo (c) Christoph KöstlinHaving picked up his first violin at the age of 4, DAVID GARRETT studied with Zahkar Bron and Ida Haendel to name a few.
His extraordinary, multifaceted talent was spotted early on: as a child prodigy, DAVID GARRETT made his stage debut at the age of 10 and became the youngest artist ever to sign with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon at the age of 13. As a child he worked with conductor legends like Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado and Yehudi Menuhin. At the age of 15 he recorded all 24 of Paganini’s Caprices – some of the most challenging pieces ever written for violin. Yehudi Menuhin has even praised him as “the greatest violinist of his generation”.
At this very point of his career, he enrolled at the worldfamous Juilliard School in New York, becoming a student of Itzhak Perlman.
After his graduation DAVID GARRETT worked with the most exceptional conductor in the classical field such as Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Riccardo Chailly, and Andrés Orozco-Estrada.

ICONIC
his new album will be released on Deutsche Grammophon on 4th November 2022
Your new Album ICONIC will be released on 4th November, tell us a bit about it, how long have you been working on it and what does it mean to you?
Every project, every album means the world to me, it’s exciting, it’s new, it’s fresh. It’s something I will be playing on tour next year.
What is to be expected, is a classical record with a David Garrett feel. I think it’s going to be a record and album which people will love listening to and also it builds the foundation of a wonderful tour.
With your new Album ICONIC what do you want people to feel when they listen to it?
Every person has different emotions, there is no way I can intentionally make somebody feel something. I think the pieces speak for themselves and I think that the record in itself is very balanced. I choose pieces which have different angles emotionally, so the record is diverse as well.
On this album you worked with some great artists. How was working with them?
Working with people I admire is always something exciting. On the other hand it’s also a responsibility. These people are my heroes.
Your music has the ability to speak to different age groups, different cultures, men, women of all ages from all over the world, what is it about your work that is able to cross cultures and languages?
I think music has that magic, music is a universal language. Music breaks the boundaries and I’m merely the one presenting it.
“The inspiration behind this album was the Golden Age of the famous violinists of the 20th century. Heifetz, Kreisler, Francescatti, Grumiaux and, of course, the great Yehudi Menuhin are all musical heroes of mine. That’s why I chose the title ICONIC.”

An exquisite gourmet food selection as well as a number of social events in St. Moritz’s first-class hotels await tournament visitors and VIPS. Welcome to St. Moritz, the home of snow polo!

The Kering Foundation’s Caring for Women Dinner
raised funds for organizations committed to ending genderbased violence
The event was hosted by Anderson Cooper and Co-Chaired by Salma Hayek Pinault, François-Henri Pinault and others, with a oneof-a-kind performance by Grammy AwardWinning Singer-Songwriter Andra Day.
Since 2008, the Kering Foundation has worked to combat violence against women by supporting survivors to live free from violence, changing behaviors and attitudes to break the cycle of violence and taking collective action to stand against violence. The Foundation funds local NGOs to provide support and resources to women and those directly impacted by violence.
One hundred percent of proceeds from the evening benefited the following organizations to address gender-based violence: National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), Global Fund for Women, Jordan River Foundation (JRF) and Ms. Foundation for Women.
Her Majesty Queen Rania, founder of the Jordan River Foundation, took the stage to emphasize the urgency of the Kering Foundation’s core mission. “Sadly, crises are not gender-neutral,” she began. “Today, we live in a world where seismic disruptions have become the norm…from pandemics, to climate change, to mass migration, to conflict and shifting geopolitics. And women and girls are always the first to feel the ground shift under their feet. They are the first to suffer and the last to recover, their agony underground and in the shadows.”
Worldwide, 1 in 3 women is or will be a victim of violence during her lifetime. Since 2008, the Kering Foundation combats this violence that affects all cultures and all social classes.

The History of the Dior Saddle bag
One legend & one word and I'm instantly teetering on the edge of my seat like an excited child on their first day of school, John Galliano & the "Saddle". You couldn't flip through Vogue or a glossy gossip magazines without spotting a saddle perched high upon the shoulder of every leggy it-girl or on screen goddess throughout the celebrity kingdom.
We will never forget it's first appearances on Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie in those early 2000's ditsy "The Simple Life" days, every girl drooling over its kidney shaped perfection, those pastel hues in exotic skin, denim & embellished finishes.
Another celebrity Sarah Jessica Parker who's alter-ego character Carrie Bradshaw really did bring the saddle into the forefront of It-bag social status. Who remembers that neutral gold & pink stirrups silk scarf print saddle she wore in season three? Who remembers her first date with Aiden? When she tried to ditch her date to go smoke the emergency cigarette she stashed in her purse. I dream about it vividly & I'm yet to even see this in person as it's as rare as unicorn saliva.
For those of you who may have thought the saddle was a trend of recent years reintroduced by Maria Grazia in her fall show 2018, guess again!
Galliano was the OG behind the birth of the saddle which was originally conceived in "1999" In his cowboy inspired runway collection which debuted spring /summer 2000. Although it's also been said that the inspiration came from Helmut Newtons "saddle I" a photograph shot in 1976 in Paris of a model scantily clad positioned on all fours wearing a saddle on her back.
Either way it was Just in time as we entered the millennium and the "Y2K" era that's had a huge revival in recent years making these some of the most collectible vintage Dior handbags out.
In the vintage realm some of his earlier original creations are so desirable that on the secondary market they can fetch prices just as high if not more than its designer counterparts .... pre-loved Hermes or Chanel which really does say something about how highly prized specific pieces are.
I've been collecting Galliano era saddles for quite a few years myself and some of the rarest included the Newspaper design from 2000, the filth saddle & not by galliano but the 2019 Kim Jones collaboration with Japanese artist "Hakima Soyarama" a futuristic metal & brass saddle selling on the secondary market for nearly £30,000. It's limited to only ten pieces made in the world.
The design has undergone a little modernisation over the last two decades if you compare the original and the contemporary model on the arm of every single influencer on social media. The hardware is slightly more inflated than its original flat streamline design and has been scaled a little larger to accommodate the modern woman and well modern technology as we all now have ridiculously large cellular devices one must lug around daily however the spirit of the bag remains very much the same. For those of you with expert eyes for vintage classics will recognize with the saddle bag it has undeniably captured the zeitgeist of the it girl generation.
Regardless of the controversy regarding his swift exit from the house of "Christian Dior in 2010, we cannot deny Galliano is one of the greatest visionaries & his saddle bag designs have remained a highly recommended piece of iconography as desirable and as relevant in fashion today as the day they debuted on the 2000 runway.

Ulysse Nardin celebrates two new versions of its LADY DIVER 39 mm and BLAST TOURBILLON 45 mm timepieces, both inspired by the iridescent rainbow colors of silicium. Always a pioneer, in 2001 the brand was the first watchmaker to introduce a timepiece with silicium escapement components - and the Freak was born, alongside contemporary watchmaking. Since then, Ulysse Nardin has incorporated this metalloid into several of its movements, including the BLAST TOURBILLON's caliber UN-172 and the LADY DIVER's caliber UN-816. Inspired by the shimmering colors of this revolutionary material, the bezels of these two new models are adorned with purple, green, blue or pink gemstones that sparkle in the sunlight for a "rainbow" effect. Usually associated with cheerfulness and joy, this multicolored trend guarantees a young and fun style.

“Our idea with this collection was to foster a playful and interactive relationship between the user and the form. The Digital Pearl set can be used vertically where the plates and cups overlap to form a pyramid shape. Setting the pyramid on your table adds an architectural, graphic dimension to your dining experience. Meanwhile, The Poly Breakfast set is an interweaved collection. The products can be combined and displayed in a multitude of ways, each time creating different shapes and forms depending on the preference of the individual”.
Karaca, the first homeware brand in the world to craft dinnerware from ground fine pearl
Homeware brand, Karaca, has collaborated with the globally renowned designer Hussein Chalayan to create a limited-edition range of architecturally inspired tableware. With a sculptural, minimalist aesthetic, and crafted from fine pearl, this exciting new collection of dinner and breakfast sets is a world first.
Comprising two six-piece sets, for dinner and breakfast, the collection’s elegant, yet simple designs cater for today’s lifestyle choices.
The Digital Pearl single dinnerware set, made from ground pearl, exhibits Chalayan’s artistic vision. Each piece stacks together perfectly to create an eye-catching pyramid, that’s both functional and contemporary. Furthermore, it’s irresistible to hosts looking to add a touch of playful performance to their dinner table.
The Poly Breakfast set, made from porcelain and in white, black, and beige, reflects Chalayan’s modern perspective. The concentric circles allow plates and cups to be linked with one another in different ways, giving consumers the creative freedom to shape their breakfast table according to taste.
The Karaca X Chalayan collection is now available at karaca.uk and soon will be available at Karaca’s first UK store, launching in London’s Islington Square this November.

INTERIOR DESIGN
’’Whilst offering timeless
Interior design tailored to each individual client’s needs, we combine function with beauty so that your space works for you and your family’s needs whilst also being beautiful and stylish but practical.’’
What does your home say about you?
Our home is very much a reflection of our personalities and love of Antiques, Textiles, colour, and Art. We love entertaining and having friends and family stay, so our home is something we want all our guests to enjoy spending time in. We adore period properties, and our Georgian home is the perfect back drop for our evergrowing Art collection. Whilst we love a room to feel cohesive and styled, we also want it to feel relaxed and lived in. Finding the balance between our desire for perfection and the need for a room to be welcoming and homely is the ultimate goal for us as designers.
How do you combine beauty and function?
The starting point for any space is understanding the use and requirements for that room. So function is vital at the very early stages of any design. There is nearly always a way to bring beauty into any space once the function of the room is understood by having bespoke items created specifically for that project. Of course, there is always those special statement one off Antique pieces that just bring a room to life and then finally pulling the whole design together with beautiful soft furnishings, lampshades, rugs, art and accessories.
Share your top 3 tips how to elevate your home?
Our 3 top tips for elevating your home would be to do things that are quick and effective. 1. Change lamp shades and cushions to give the room a new feel and look. This will always be a very simple way to transform the ambience of the space especially embracing colour which will create depth and texture. 2. Move existing art into new positions or add in a few new pieces to change the focal points of the room. Sometimes when you move a piece to a new space you look at it with a whole new perspective. As huge art lovers we always encourage our clients to embrace original art which carry an energy and story, adding life to a space. 3. Repaint the walls. Jump at colour and add some fun to the space. Banish magnolia and don't be afraid of slightly darker tones. It can be perceived that they make a room feel smaller but, in some instances, it can mark the room feel cosier and more inviting. We love a strong colour layered with art as it acts as a wonderful backdrop.

Heralding a new era for hospitality in one of the world's greatest cities, the much-anticipated Aman New York is now open, bringing the peace promised by Aman’s Sanskrit-derived name and the palpable tranquillity of its Asian roots to the heart of Manhattan’s midtown.
As the newest addition to the hospitality brand’s extensive property list, Aman New York is the brand’s first location on the East Coast and only the third in the United States. First established in 1988 in Phuket, Thailand, Aman was imagined as a collection of intimate retreats and has carved out a niche as a power player in remote luxury.
Situated in the historic Crown Building, Aman New York is a temple of design, created in partnership with long-time Aman collaborator Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston Architects. The arrival experience sets the tone for an aesthetic journey which complements the powerful statement of the building’s gilded splendour. The doubleheight atrium with multilayers of textured ceiling and wall panels in muted tones hints at the brand’s Asian heritage while celebrating the unceasing heartbeat of Manhattan.
“The Aman DNA, which has remained the same since the brand’s conception in 1988 with Amanpuri, is standout locations, exceptional architecture and interior design, peace, privacy, and unparalleled service,”
Vlad Doronin, owner, chairman and CEO of Aman Group. All Images Credit Aman New York
“The opening of Aman New York is a milestone moment in the evolution and growth of the Aman brand, cementing our strategy to bring the coveted Aman lifestyle to the world’s greatest urban locations. The hotel, Aman Club and Aman Branded Residences bring an entirely new proposition to Manhattan. Generous amenities and the unparalleled Aman service deliver a guest experience like no other, as we continue to push boundaries and set new standards in luxury hospitality.”
Aman’s Chairman and CEO, Vlad Doronin
The crowning glory of Aman New York is its broad selection of buzzy social venues. Headlining these areas is its verdant 14th-floor wraparound Garden Terrace offering year-round dining, a rarity in one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The Garden Terrace is flanked with water features adding a soft and soothing touch, and fire pits creating a sense of drama and energy. Two signature restaurants include Arva, Aman’s Italian dining concept which celebrates locally sourced seasonal ingredients, and Nama, the brand’s Washoku Japanese restaurant with an intimate Omakase bar upholding the brand’s duality of East meets West. Furthermore, the Jazz Club features daily live performances establishing the hotel as a destination unto itself, interwoven into the fabric of the city.
The centrepiece of this urban sanctuary is its vast Aman Spa set over three floors, at the heart of which lies a tranquil indoor 20-metre pool, 10 treatment rooms, fitness facilities including the latest technologies of assessment sciences, plus two Spa Houses providing guests with an allencompassing spa journey. A first for the city, these private Spa Houses comprise a spacious double treatment room, sauna and steam rooms complemented by hot and cold plunge pools, and an outdoor terrace with cabana, daybed, and fireplace.
In addition to the expansive amenities for its 83 suites, which are amongst the largest and most generously appointed in the city, Aman New York makes history as the first hotel to house an Aman Club with dedicated facilities. Members have exclusive access to two Club lounges, a private Garden Terrace, as well as a Cigar Lounge and Wine Room, where members can fully embrace the Aman lifestyle through curated programming and immersive experiences.
Aman New York also plays host to the brand’s first urban Aman Branded Residences, a collection of 22 incomparable private homes located on the upper floors, infused with the Aman way of living centred on understated, elegant, and architecturally designed environments. Each unique residence is serviced by Aman and invites its owner to become permanently immersed in the peerless Aman lifestyle in an unmatched address.
The London Edition

The 5* London Hotel With a Fascinating History
Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair, just a street behind Bond Street, is an unassuming building from the outside. However, inside is the most impeccable interior design, and walls with some rather important stories to tell. Part of the Rocco Forte 5-star hotel empire, Brown’s Hotel combines modern luxury service with traditional opulent décor, that’s rich in colour, prints and texture.
Brown’s Hotel, known originally as the Brown Private Hotel, is London’s oldest hotel. Dating back to 1837, the start of the Victorian era, it initially spanned only one building. The size of the hotel grew throughout Queen Victoria’s reign to take over neighbouring properties, including St. George’s Hotel. This amalgamation was re-named Brown’s St. George’s. Popular with visiting royalty and politicians of the time, it was also a beloved haven of our own queen, Queen Victoria. She often took afternoon tea in what is now The Drawing Room, where guests can still have afternoon tea or a slice of Victoria Sponge today. She enjoyed people-watching whilst at the hotel, and The Drawing Room still features its original wood panelling, giving guests a good idea of what it would have looked like during Queen Victoria’s visits.
Standing alone, that’s an incredible piece of historical kudos for Brown’s; but it doesn’t stop there. In 1876, the inventor of the telephone, Alexander Graham Bell, made the first ever telephone call from a room on the ground floor.
The room still exists today as a meeting room and contains an exact replica of Bell’s telephone that he used. Not long afterwards, in 1982, author Rudyard Kipling had his honeymoon at the hotel. He returned many times and even penned the world-famous The Jungle Book whilst staying here. Agatha Christie based her book At Bertram’s Hotel on Brown’s St. George’s, and Stephen King began writing his cult novel Misery here, actually sitting at Rudyard Kipling’s desk. US president Theodore Roosevelt even spent the night before his wedding here.
Luxury hotel tycoon Rocco Forte acquired the property in 2003 and it went through a huge refurbishment, under the exquisite design eye of his sister Olga Polizzi, mother of The Hotel Inspector’s Alex Polizzi. Accommodation ranges from generous classic-style executive rooms, to foliage-inspired Brown’s Suites around £1800 per night, to grand Forte suites upwards of £5000 per night. It’s in the Forte suites that Olga Polizzi’s design talent is really allowed to come into its own, with each suite having its own unique style. There’s the Kipling suite with its jungleinspired wallpapers, green tones and elephant statues; and the Hellenic suite with its more contemporary feel - clean lines, modern art and bold prints, combined with British heritage furniture. Every space within Brown’s hotel features romantic, colourful, and clashing prints that combine together beautifully with a quirky elegance.
In no place is this more evident than Brown’s hotel restaurant Charlie’s. Named after Rocco Forte’s father, this silver-service dining spot is under the helm of Michelin-starred chef Adam Byatt. Local, seasonal produce makes up the classic British dishes on its menu, which also have great nods to Italian, French and Spanish cuisines too. From Burrata with honeyed butternut squash and pine nuts, to classic Chicken Milanese and Crème Brulee. At night, Charlie’s becomes the place to people-watch as guests dine and chatter rises. The maître-d’ of Charlie’s is one of the most charming men you could meet and he enjoys a friendly but respectful chat with all his guests; bringing humour and levity to the dining room.
Brown’s Hotel is also known for its exceptional cocktail menu; both from the bar within Charlie’s restaurant, and at the hotel’s dark and moody Donovan Bar. You might expect the Donovan Bar to follow suit with the hushed elegance that sits over most of the rest of the hotel; but come 5pm, Mayfair’s suited and booted businessmen and women enjoy post-work drinks here to the lively sounds of Sweet Caroline
Brown’s is everything to everyone. It’s a cool spot for an evening out, a home-away-from-home for families, a discreet haven for a couple’s retreat, and a place to celebrate a special occasion with afternoon tea or a spa treatment. It has everything you could desire from a modern luxury hotel, combined with traditional historic features and classic 5-star service.
Discover Mayfair’s DUKES London Hotel
Discretely tucked away in a tranquil nest of beautiful back streets, DUKES London is just minutes from Piccadilly. The hotel is the epitome of traditional British luxury. Its sophisticated interiors, antique furniture and beautiful textiles, seem to confirm the rumours that this was one of Princess Diana’s favourite hotels. Bond writer Ian Fleming’s love of a martini apparently started at DUKE’s London too.
Dating back to 1906, this hotel has 90 elegant and quintessentially British rooms and suites. The largest and most expensive suite in the hotel is the DUKE of Clarence Suite, and it looks like it has been plucked straight from nearby Buckingham Palace, with its thick cream carpets, antique wood furniture and plush heritage textiles. A spacious living room with working desk area leads out onto a balcony with the most spectacular views of the St. James’ Mayfair skyline and Green Park. Heading back into the large hallway, there’s the ensuite bedroom with spectacular emperor bed and obsidian marble-decked bathroom. Further down the hallway, there’s also a second washroom by the main suite door. It’s both breath-taking and a real home away from home. You’ll want to move in permanently even although its near £2K per night price tag might sadly make this impossible.
All rooms in DUKES London have everything you would expect from an elegant 5-star luxury hotel – crisp white bed linens, the most enveloping of king-size mattresses, beautiful Noble Isle toiletries, cooling air conditioning and cosy robes and slippers. There’s also a fully equipped gym and small spa in the hotel. However, the thing that really sets DUKES London apart from London’s other luxury hotel offerings, is the incredible staff that give such a personalised service, and who take care of even the smallest of things with un-matched dedication. From the moment you step into the grand reception area, watched over by a beautiful portrait of the Queen, the staff will treat you like you are the most important person in the world. Their genuine love for creating impeccable guest experiences will blow you away and ensure you book a return trip.
Two things you must ensure you do during your stay at DUKES London is have their afternoon tea and order their famous ‘world’s best Martini’ cocktail. Afternoon tea (from £39.50pp) is served in the Drawing Room or its connected private garden. Sitting there, it’s hard to believe you are in central London. Afternoon tea includes a vast selection of teas, crustless sandwiches, warm scones with jam and clotted cream, and beautiful miniature cakes – including a dark chocolate cream horn with black cherry cremeux, pecan pie with white chocolate and caramel, and an apple and blackberry gateau.
Ian Fleming’s beloved Martini from DUKES Bar is still served from a traditional Martini trolley and mixed infront of you, making it a really unique experience. The New York Times described it as ‘one of the world’s best Martinis’, so it’s a must-try. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, and they can even arrange a private picnic lunch in Green Park, as well as clear up for you after it too.
DUKES London is the perfect hotel for those who want to experience traditional British elegance and luxury. Fans of the Royal Family will enjoy an insight into their classically British interior style and traditions. The staff will make you feel so special and will ensure you enjoy the most perfect trip to London.

A Luxury Stay in London’s Political Heartland
Written by Laura Pearson Instagram @alifewithfrillsThe Westminster, a Hilton Curio Collection property, is a fairly new hotel having opened mid-2021. Being part of the Hilton brand, it is in some respects, a standard commercial hotel. However, sitting under the luxurious Curio label means it has something more interesting about its luxury aesthetic. In this case, the interiors are stylishly themed around its political location; adding a quirkiness and individuality to the hotel.
This four-star 464-room hotel has a boutique feel and the walls are adorned with modern art, from paintings and prints to abstract installations. The theme is deception, political secrets and disguise – to give a nod to the fact it’s next door to MI5 and just along the road from London’s political heartland, featuring The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and 10 Downing Street. Oil paintings behind the reception desk have their faces blurred, including one of the Queen. A print of her famous red box adorns the lobby and a sign by the lifts tells you that ‘there’s always more than meets the eye’. It’s playful and there’s lots of pieces to take in.
Despite being situated in a quiet back street full of office buildings, this hotel is definitely more aimed at tourists than business travellers; which makes sense due to its proximity to most of the main London tourist spots, such as Big Ben and The Houses of Parliament. Concierge are incredibly knowledgeable about the city and are there to offer maps and tips to those who need it. When you’re not out seeing the sights, you can make use of the hotel’s own bowling alley, gym with incredible skyline views, or dine at one of the two restaurants.
Over the hotel’s 12 floors, rooms vary from Queens to
When it comes to eating, there are two options at The Westminster – a street-food style, casual, quick-dining option Bao Yum; serving bao buns and other oriental-style cuisine. The second is the second STK Steakhouse restaurant to open in London. Upmarket, modern-American steakhouse STK is a low-lit, cool space that’s made for date night. Dress is smart, so style yourself like you’re heading on a night out to the trendiest club. Booths make for very intimate dining and pink trees add a really girly and Instagrammable touch to the restaurant. It’s definitely not a place aimed at children and family dining.
The food at STK is amazing, but pricey. Its main focus is steak and you can fully customise your steak, from the cut, to the topping and sauce. Turn it into a surf and turf meal by adding their delicious lobster tails, and choose what sides you want to accompany your meal; from creamed spinach to truffle fries. If meat isn’t for you, there are lots of Vegetarian options on the menu too – from decadent mushroom truffle pasta, to delicious burrata and salads.
Prices start at £165 per night

Six Senses Ninh Van Bay
Serene, remote, and utterly idyllic, the unspoiled shores and rustic luxury of Six Senses Ninh Van Bay invites you to escape the ordinary. The resort’s sublime location, which offers spell-binding views of lush jungle-clad mountains and the turquoise crystal waters of the East Sea, creates an experience akin to being on a castaway island.
For some designers, dramatic might mean buildings that make people gasp, but for Thai-based Habita Architects, the ambition was to create a retreat almost indistinguishable from the natural drama of a pristine peninsula. Echoing Vietnam’s rich history, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay perfectly embodies the brand’s reverence and respect for local culture and architecture - the reception and other public areas across the resort take their visual cues from the traditional Dinh, a Vietnamese communal house typically built without using a single nail. The beautiful exclusive villas that adorn the resort are a seemingly organic feature, rather than buildings fashioned by the hand of man. Perched on the cliffs and the forested hills or dotted along the beach, all accommodations are crafted from local sustainable materials and feature private pools with luxurious outdoor living spaces.
Each villa comes with a dedicated GEM, a Guest Experience Maker, who is on call around the clock to tailor your stay to your lifestyle preferences and arrange for everything from spa appointments to boat trips.
At the Rock Retreat, accessible only by a private boat or your own walkway, guests will discover a place and setting that strips away all sense of time. Offering the separate living, dining and massage pavilions and two master bedrooms, this overwater residence also boasts a panoramic sundeck complete with a freeform swimming pool built into the stark stone of the bay. Additionally, the 3-bedroom Water Reserve, nestled on the eastern tip of the bay, has a serious wow factor which will take your breath away. An exclusive hideaway from everyday life, this spacious beachside heaven comes with 900 sqm of living space, an open-air cinema, a private jetty for direct access to the sea, and its very own water slide curving straight into the infinity pool!
For the traveller who savours every taste and plans an entire trip around a restaurant just for the love of trying something new, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay offers an array of stellar culinary experiences. Every meal at the resort embodies farm-to-table cuisine at its best and adds flavour, colour and magic to your stay.
Start your day with a lavish champagne breakfast at the beachfront Dining by the Bay and feel a gentle sea breeze floating in the air – a beautiful reminder to take it slow. Regain your energy between adventures at Dining by the Pool, a casual open-air pavilion that serves traditional Vietnamese specialities and international favourites, alongside healthier green options and wellness blends. As you end the day with stunning sunset views, enjoy an aperitif in the effortless luxury of Drinks by the Beach. When it comes to dinner, the choice is almost overwhelming. You can never go wrong with a romantic date under the stars at the intimate Dining by the Rocks, a treetop venue perched on a hill with a glimmering sea as a backdrop. Special occasions call for a candlelit dinner at the resort’s wine cave, an exclusive setting to celebrate the passion for food, wine and great company. Unfurl your napkin to a five-course extravaganza complete with flawless Six Senses service and, given the location, an excellent selection of rare vintages. For a more local gastronomic experience, a Nha Trang hot pot served at the main jetty is a perfect opportunity to share a hearty meal with someone you love.
Unlock another layer of Vietnam’s rich culture and forge a deeper connection to the land by taking part in an interactive cooking class hosted by a local chef. Beginning with the tour around the resort’s herb and vegetable garden to handpick your produce, the culinary adventure unfolds itself at Grandma’s Kitchen, an alfresco cooking station shaded by the palm leaves. One of the best ways to commemorate any culture is to recreate it in your kitchen later - dive into the core of Vietnamese cuisine and learn how to make crispy rice paper rolls or a sizzling banh xeo.
The Six Senses Ninh Vay Bay builds on the brand’s philosophy of cultivating holistic health through all the senses. Embark on a journey of self-discovery through a wide range of invigorating treatments, based on the preventative principles of the Eastern medicinal approach and more results-centric Western influences. Every stay starts with a wellness screening which uses advanced technology to measure and analyze key physiological biomarkers of health, including body composition, metabolism, oxygen distribution, heart function and circulation, as well as stress parameters. Based on the results from these tests, in-house wellbeing experts create a bespoke multi-day program that includes spa treatments, nutritional advice and a series of fitness activities to kickstart your health and wellness experience.
From Sleep and Fitness to Discover Yoga and Detox, each program is focused on the personal targets you wish to achieve during your stay and beyond. If you are looking to improve sleep patterns and establish a sustainable routine, the dedicated resident specialist will help by creating a tailored solution, based on yoga nidra, meditation, relaxing treatments, wellness therapies, nutrition advice, and low intensity training. Dreaming of a supple, strong, capable body and a clear, positive mind? Discover Yoga, which requires no past practice or special agility, is an ideal choice for complete novices but can also be adapted to more seasoned practitioners. The spa experience is further enhanced by visiting wellbeing experts from all over the world. Alongside the resident team, they will help you to further explore your spiritual needs and reach beyond the existing limits of your overall health and wellness.
Six Senses Ninh Van Bay caters to all kinds of visitorsaction adventurers, those guests wishing to practice the fine art of doing nothing at all, and everyone in between. Sun worshippers will be delighted by the ample number of lounging spots to be found throughout the resort – swinging hammocks, trampoline nets suspended over the sea, and catamaran-style sunbeds on a deck built for sunsets are par for the course. Craving something a little more active? Set off on a complimentary bike for a leisurely ride, experience the soaring freedom of aerial yoga, test your circuit training routine at the outdoor jungle gym, or encounter critically endangered black-shanked douc langurs while hiking in the jungle with the resident terrestrial biologist. Take time to exhale and join one of the signature wellness workshops at the Alchemy Bar. Designed around the healing properties of local exotic fruits, fresh herbs, aromatic salts and essential oils, these fun hands-on classes will bring you in sync with the harmony of nature. Make your own beauty potions using seasonal ingredients from the resort’s organic garden, all under the expert guidance of skilled in-house therapists.
A passion for wellness, community, sustainable design and smiles
Built with a younger clientele in mind, Grow With Six Senses is rolling out the welcome mat for families with kids. Vooc Village, a perfect antidote to today’s digital world, welcomes the resort’s mini guests with a jungle gym and an indoor club that opens up to a thrilling aquatic playground. Never too young to explore the world, children can choose from a selection of fun-filled educational and interactive activities crafted to excite inquisitive minds. And while the kids are being entertained with pirate treasure hunts, building their own coral reef or playing a farmer, adults can push the reset button and enjoy the rustic seaside glamour with a cocktail in hand.
True to the brand’s philosophy of being in harmony with nature, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay has a uniquely compelling story to tell. Bringing conservation and ethical environmental practices to the forefront, the resort’s sustainability team, headquartered at the Earth Lab, promotes responsible dining, champions indigenous culture and local produce, protects critically endangered species and raises awareness on responsible tourism. Join a waste-to-wealth workshop, try your hand at making your own eco-friendly bee wax wrap or a bar of soap scented with essential oils that are extracted at the onsite alembic distillery, visit the resort’s mushroom hut and chicken villa or join a build-a-reef session, where you can sponsor your very own coral frame.
With unparalleled access to marine life and exhilarating water sports, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay offers sea borne experiences that cater to your every desire. After you have canoed, sailed and snorkeled the waters of the resort’s coral reef, you will be ready to recline back on your patio for an outdoor cinema screening with warm popcorn and chilled champagne.
Should you wish to venture outside of the resort and discover a destination lauded for its splendid natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is positioned close to the coastal town of Nha Trang, where you can explore its ancient Champa temples and colourful seafood markets. Further afield, soak your worries away at the mineral mud bath, explore the picturesque countryside by pedal-powered cyclo or give back to the local community with a visit to an orphanage.
Offering the ideal, picturesque setting for an adventure or a relaxing getaway from everyday life, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is constantly dreaming up new ways to ensure that each and every guest leaves this natural haven with magical memories that will last a lifetime.

Top 5 Lessons as a CEO with Mary Grothe
As a 3x founder, I’ve learned several lessons and am starting to understand what it means to be a CEO. It’s one thing to get the title, especially as a founder because you can give it to yourself, but it is quite another to earn the title and use its power for good.
I have power and influence, even if I don’t want to believe it.
It took me a few years to realize that even though my organization is flat and everyone has direct access to me, my team doesn’t see me as a peer or friend. As an extrovert with a big heart, I am in this for my team and my clients, but the CEO title can unintentionally create fear, anxiety, nervousness, and intimidation with my team. With that, I have embraced its power and I ensure I enter into all conversations with calmness and curiosity. I get to create the environment and experience for each conversation. How I show up impacts my team member’s day and potentially how they show up to everyone in their life. If I show up poorly, it may cause frustration and negative emotions inside my team member who then spreads that to others at work and at home. The snowball effect can be damaging, therefore I choose to create a safe space for all conversations and ensure my response is calm, loving, professional, and helpful.
Overinflated titles cause title debt.
As a startup founder/CEO, it’s easy to assign big titles to team members to offset the inability to offer large comp plans and benefits out of the gate. However, those titles come with a price tag, often resulting in inflated egos, misalignment with responsibilities and expectations, and a future inability to add high-level, more distinguished team members as the company scales.
I’ve learned to curb the desire to offer C-level and VP titles to team members until they reach a defined combination of tenure, experience, and proven accomplishments. Transparent and fair market value compensation plans are important to me, therefore I resist the urge to satisfy a team member’s ego with a large title they truly haven’t earned yet. It will serve them in the long run and it also serves my company, as there may be a day on our journey where we need to attract a high-level C-level or VP-level hire with a resume that trumps others, and if I do, it won’t make sense if others on our team have the same title with half the experience.
Team members may only serve me for a season, not a lifetime.
I cried during my first employee resignation. The thought that I didn’t provide a long-term opportunity for them devastated me. Four years later, I’ve learned to embrace that everyone will eventually leave, but I can create the best experience for them while they’re here and support them wherever they go. In fact, it’s become a practice that we embrace as a larger team and we always celebrate team members who “graduate” our company and secure a greater opportunity outside of our company. I’ve been known to serve people in various capacities long after they’ve been employed with us. My heart for them doesn’t change after they leave.
Everything is a choice.
Life is hard, being a CEO is harder. The ups and downs can be euphoria or utter devastation. I’ve learned to not take challenges too seriously or emotionally react, and I always choose to believe that God works everything together for our good, even when it doesn’t look like it at first. I choose how my calendar is blocked. I choose how I prioritize my tasks. I choose which clients we bring on. I choose who we employ. I choose how I respond to adversity. I choose to show up powerfully, from a place of love and light. I also choose to love everyone, regardless of the situation and remember that our time on earth is temporary, but the way I interact with people will leave behind a legacy I want to be remembered for.
It’s not about me.
At first, the CEO title fed my ego and made me proud. Now, my team’s success and my client’s success are what I live for. Shifting the emphasis from me to them has resulted in significant growth and profitability. I’ve worked hard to decrease the need for immediate gratification and to see my name in the spotlight. It felt so good for the first few years as a CEO to win

POWERHOUSE
AN EXCLUSIVE RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS WITHIN THE HISTORIC WALLS OF LONDON’S LAST GREAT INDUSTRIAL ICON
The iconic Lots Road Power Station which had powered the London Underground for over a century has been transformed into an exceptionally rare collection of 260 apartments – the Powerhouse. When fully completed, this post-modernist masterpiece with a hallowed history will enjoy a resplendent future as London’s most refined and exclusive residential address overlooking the River Thames.
Once the driving force behind the rapid expansion of modern London, Lots Road Power Station generated electricity to keep citizens on the move during the Blitz of the Second World War. The repurposing of the Power Station and the delivery of Chelsea Waterfront represent the most dramatic transformation in the borough in living memory. A triumph of engineering built on a scale never seen before, Powerhouse was the first of the city’s three great power stations built over a century ago and the last being redeveloped. The other two are Battersea, and Bankside (which is now better known as the Tate Modern, one of London's premier tourist destinations).
Dr Edmond Ho, Director & General Manager of Hutchison Property Group (UK) Limited, said:
“This latest project being unveiled at Chelsea Waterfront - Powerhouse - is an iconic London landmark and a cathedral of the industrial age which has been rejuvenated by a world-class team of architects and designers. Taking on a revolutionary new form, Powerhouse will offer a 21st century living experience like no other in one of London’s most coveted boroughs.”
The largest power station ever constructed, with chimneys soaring 275 feet high above the River Thames, Lots Road Power Station was completed in 1905 as the first steel-framed building in the British Isles, often described as the “design grandfather” of Battersea Power Station. Today, a team of architects led by Sir Terry Farrell has restored the historic red brick walls whilst its interiors have been re-designed as lavish living spaces by the award-winning Fiona Barratt Interiors. Boasting a multitude of state-of-the-art amenities, Powerhouse will be professionally managed by Rendall and Rittner concierge with 5-star services around the clock, from general house management to individual booking requests. The exclusive health and fitness centre, housing a luxurious spa, a fully equipped gym, and a 20-metre swimming pool, offers a private sanctuary for exercise and relaxation. The elegantly appointed Residents’ Club Lounge with its delightful views of the river is the ideal multi-purpose space for work or social gatherings. For those seeking superb cuisine served in stylish surroundings, the restaurants at Chelsea Waterfront which boast unforgettable vistas across the river, and the beautifully lit landscaped gardens will be the first port of call.
Chelsea Waterfront
Chelsea Waterfront, designed by internationally renowned architect Sir Terry Farrell, overlooks a part of the River Thames that was previously inaccessible. The luxury development comprises 10 buildings set across 8.85 acres which, in addition to Powerhouse, also includes Tower West, a 37-storey tower, the tallest residential building in SW10 and Tower East a 25-storey tower, as well as the Rotunda. Powerhouse is situated across the bridge from the gardens at Chelsea Waterfront which have been thoughtfully crafted by leading landscape architect Randle Siddeley to create an oasis of nature with breathtaking views along the river to Battersea and Chelsea Bridge.
Strong connectivity
Located in an intimate enclave at the heart of London’s most distinguished and elegant Royal Borough, Chelsea Waterfront is situated less than a 5-minute walk from Imperial Wharf Station for direct access to Central London, while nearby Chelsea Harbour Pier provides riverboat services on The Thames Clipper. Lots Road and the iconic Kings Road area represent one of the finest of dining, shopping and culture destinations that London has to offer. Within the immediate vicinity, residents can enjoy a diverse selection of Michelin-starred restaurants, antique shops, luxury concept stores and exquisite cafés, such as Medlar, Bluebird Chelsea, and John Nicolas Antiques to name but a few.
The Penthouses and Sky Villas at the St. Regis Miami Are Now up for Sale
If living high above the treetops is your sort of thing, the new St. Regis Residences Miami might be exactly what you’re looking for. The project, which consists of two towers, the Astor and the William, features penthouses and sky villas perfect for those seeking literal high-end accommodations.
183 units total are up for sale in the 46-story William tower, which should be completed in 2026, the penthouses and sky villas are the true showstoppers. The two upper penthouses and four sky villas will truly provide a living experience like no other.
Each penthouse will be a duplex unit with a private rooftop, where there will be a summer kitchen and pool. The first floor will feature an additional outdoor terrace for enjoying Florida’s good weather. The views from these units will be outstanding, since there aren’t many new high-rises in the surrounding area and new builds are allowed to go higher than was previously allowed. That basically guarantees 360degree views of the ocean, downtown Miami and the Brickell neighborhood where the residences will be located.
The penthouse and villas will have incredible views at St. Regis Residences Miami.
Jon Paul Pérez, the president of Related GroupThe sky villas, meanwhile, will be about 6,000 to 7,000 square feet, with an open living/dining area that takes up the entire front of the building. These units will also have large terraces, and most of the bedrooms will be on the second level. Throughout the towers, the condos come standard with 11-foot ceilings, custom European marble floors, Italian cabinetry, Wolf appliances and full-height wine refrigerators.
While the units themselves are quite spectacular, the building wouldn’t live up to its St. Regis name without some pretty outstanding amenities. Pérez noted that the two towers will share 60,000 square feet of amenities, including a St. Regis spa, a fullservice restaurant, three pools (not including the private penthouse pools), sky bars/ terraces, cognac rooms and tearooms. Additionally, residents will have access to a private marina, which Pérez said is unique because marinas are no longer being approved for new buildings in Florida.
The sky villas are selling for $15 million to $19 million, while the penthouses start at $24 million.
“It really feels like a home in the sky,”
