The Polo Masters Cup is the second phase of The Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series and this year’s tournament saw seven teams, up to 8 goals, compete in the week-long tournament, with a roster of top players including Lukin Monteverde, Tommy Beresford and Ricardo Garrós. Finals day began with Estancia Lamar narrowly defeating El Basha Polo, 6-5, before the main event of the day – The Polo Masters Cup Final between Ankora Polo and Bin Drai Polo. Raul Laplacette opened the scoring for Bin Drai and consecutive goals from Laplacette resulted in a comfortable 6-3 lead by half-time. Ricardo Garrós, later named Most Valuable Player, scored two goals for Ankora to bring them within striking distance in the third chukka, 7-5, but Bin Drai continued their goal scoring to secure the win, 9-6.
