The Club has announced Henry Bass as their new General Manager; Bass has been involved with sport and event management having launched the Goodwood Members’ Meeting and headed up the Goodwood Revival as the General Manager.

KIRTLINGTON PARK Kirtlington Park Polo Club

For the first time in the Club’s history, there is irrigation on Grounds 1 and 2 for the upcoming 2022 season, as well as new pony lines on Grounds 3 and 4. The Club’s Start of Season Party will be on Sunday 1 May, their KPPC Ball on Saturday 30 July, the Summer Sounds Event Festival on 12 – 14 August and the End of Season Party on Saturday 17 September.

Emsworth Polo Grounds

Congratulations to Ojo Caliente (Ana Escobedo, Matt Perry & Ed Banner Eve) who narrowly defeated Tchogan/ Polo Performance (Heiko Voelker, Mark Tomlinson & Will Emerson), 16-15, to claim The Windsor Shield, with Matt Perry chosen as the Most Valuable Player.

2022 Aspen Valley Cup winners, Orea Polo Dundas, winners of The Limited Edition 12 Goal

Grand Champions Polo Club

The Aspen Valley Cup was secured by Orea Polo in over-time at Grand Champions Polo Club on Sunday 30 January. Going into the Final both teams were undefeated, so it was always set to be a tough match. Santi Torres scored the winning goal from 90 yards out and ended the match with eight goals to be named Most Valuable Player; Loteria, played by Roberto Zedda and owned by J5, was the Best Playing Pony. Dundas defended their MVP, Santos Bollini, on the ball title in The Limited Edition 12 Goal at Grand Champions Polo Club, defeating Mayer Ranch 12-9 in a tough Final, with Roberto Zedda named Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row. Gitana, Diego Cavanagh’s 10-year-old mare, was chosen as the Best Playing Pony.

On Saturday 26 February, Casimiro led from the outset to lift The Metropolitan 6 Goal Cup, with an 8½-5 win against their higher handicapped opponents, The Polo School. 22-year-old Santos Bollini scored four goals for his team and was named Most Valuable Player, while Rayo Careta, played by Miki Novillo Astrada, was the Best Playing Pony.

The Juan Carlos Harriott Cup ended with the two La Grappa teams being crowned champions in both the high and low goal categories, defeating La Posta and Bel Polo Team respectively.

White Waltham Polo Club

This season White Waltham Polo Club are holding three 4 Goal Tournaments. Teams who are travelling from afar are welcome to keep their ponies at the Club and stay over Saturday night to be able to enjoy watching some local high goal matches on Saturday and Sunday afternoon with a Saturday evening BBQ at the Club. You could even arrive in time for Friday evening chukkas if you would like a full polo weekend. Congratulations to Canonbury who defeated Harris Hound Art, 17-11, in the rescheduled Valentine Trophy at the Club on Sunday 20 February after a delay due to Storm Eunice.

NFI, winners of The Sworders Trophy

Over the weekend 26 – 27 February, Rugby Polo Club hosted The Sworders Trophy, which was won by NFI, with Not Fast, Not Furious in second place, Sworders in third and La Casa Loco in fourth; Alex Choma was named Most Valuable Player and Anna, played by Naji Aziz was chosen as the Best Playing Pony. In the No Pro tournament, Rugby Polo Club took the in.
