B&R Offers Soft-Start Function for Injection Moulders and Extruders

Heat Up Temperature Zones Gently and Evenly with mapp Temperature

B&R’s mapp Temperature software package provides a new pre-programmed way to get manufacturing systems up to temperature.

heats up machine components gently to minimise heating element fatigue - without any of the tedious programming that used to be involved. Homogeneous heating reduces mechanical stresses and allows for controlled evaporation of liquid residues in the machine.

With mapp Temperature’s Soft-Start function, equipment such as filtration systems, extruders and injection moulding machines can be brought to operating temperature quickly and easily. This is done either by targeted heating with limited power or by using a defined temperature gradient to heat up all zones synchronously. Since the Soft-Start function avoids operating the heating elements at maximum power, it is particularly gentle on the machine’s hardware.

No Programming Required

All the necessary settings, such as the target temperature, are easy to configure in mapp Temperature. Individual heating zones can be adjusted individually, or even excluded from the Soft-Start process if necessary. This makes temperature control much more flexible and offers more options for different heating zones. The heating process is started at the push of a button without any of the tedious programming that used to be involved.

The what, why, how and who of their journey from a manufacturer to the conglomerate of today, as told to POLYMERS Communiqué by Bankey Goenka...

Big Market Globally for Chemically Recycled PET Chips

Q. From the initial foray into manufacturing woven fabrics and sacks to the conglomerate of today, please share with us your experience and key learnings.

The key learnings have been to work in the B2B domain, dealing in volume, and maintaining the quality with sustainable outcomes. If business is conducted keeping in mind the environment, human beings and transparent governance, it will surely go a long way.

Q. What prompted the company to switch gears and keep adding to the ever-increasing product portfolio?

Since inception, we have been committed to offering a wide range of sustainable products to the society. Beginning with a progressive vision, we have kept on learning and continually adding capacities and qualities, and widening our product portfolio.

Q. A varied portfolio right from recycled PET chips and flakes to masterbatches to fibre and yarn requires a strong technical team and an equally up-to-date research laboratory. What strategy do you follow in this regard?

We have had a strong technical team since inception. The important thing is that our key people have been with us since inception. They are continuously learning and we are open to any kind of experimentation / trial / R&D which has paved the way for a diversified product portfolio.
