Dear CANactions friends, We are extremely grateful for our cooperation and co-creation. We would like to share with you the main highlights and results of our activities in 2016 and provide you with a brief overview of organisations and experts who participated in our initiatives last year. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to a new format of educational programs of CANactions school, as well as to a newly established tradition of active participation in international conferences and exhibitions, and to a number of competitions organised by CANactions with support of our partners. CANactions School In 2016 our School for Urban Studies hosted a research studio (STUDIO#2) focused on post-industrial cities of Ukraine, and organised a new program jointly with German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) – Advanced Studies in Integrated Urban Development for graduate professionals who work in the field of urban development. Study formats: ● Studio is a 3.5 months of full-time urban research at CANactions school in Kyiv, which also includes a fieldtrip focused on urban context of selected Ukrainian city (in 2016 our students went to Kramatorsk); ● Advanced studies is a new format offered by CANactions school which enables students to combine work and studies; learning sessions take place every fourth week at CANactions school in Kyiv; international fieldtrip is included into the curriculum (in 2016 our students went on a fieldtrip to Vilnius, Lithuania). The current Advanced studies program will run until June 2017. Currently, there are 32 alumni of CANactionsschool. They are currently employed by the following organisations: Тепле Місто, Будуємо Україну Разом, Ізоляція, Промприлад, Містосад, Замкова Гора, Vision Zero and others.
