The Port of Tyne Pitch Peter Williams CQP MCQI

From communications with the ports the consumption of paper From January 2022 – to May 2022 was 425 boxes of A4 Paper To put that into context the annual consumption of A4 Sheets of paper alone is 510,000 sheets This is equivalent to

51 adult pine trees being used £80,000 per year consumable costs – this does not include service and printer hiring, paper recycling, storage and retention of documents or time to collect, collate and interrogate data

The port have identified via the innovation hub and there 2050 vision a vision of how to achieve there targets the technology that we are offering supports several of these key points. These requirements are derived from the national policy and objectives of the wider Maritime sector

Present       

Decarbonisation Health & Safety initiatives .IOT Technology Data analytics App development Digitisation Electronic workflows

Future

Pitch SMS Tech The ports to support (BETA Test for 3 months) SMS Tech with implementing its customizable platform and to feedback on its functionality to enable any further development to support its release to the wider maritime sector.

Port of Tyne A potential solution in reducing environmental footprint, reducing port storage of document retention.

Together we can remove this unnecessary waste

“The Climate Change Act commits the UK government by law to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 100% of 1990 levels (net zero) by 2050”

Benefits of the system •

Customizable forms to capture information & Easy to populate at shop floor

Reduce onsite storage for archiving of paper documentation

Reduce environmental impact due to no paper documentation on the shop floor or Printer cartridges being disposed

Utilizes current hardware

Assign actions directly from the app

Manage team members to resolve issues efficiently

Analyze results and drive continuous improvement

Supports evidence for accreditation bodies of conformance to standards

Document control & change requests

Internal and Supplier Auditing

Contingency planning/Risk & Opportunity

Policy uploading

Reduce onsite storage for archiving of paper documentation
