COMMUNITY CALENDAR & WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE

SECURE YOUR WASTE
Collection is weekly for green carts (organics) and biweekly for blue (recycling) and grey (garbage) carts. Find your collection day info on the monthly calendar pages or: • •
One meal is enough to bring a bear back again and again. Secure attractants to keep your family and neighbours safe and avoid a fine. More info: portcoquitlam.ca/lockitright.
With the free PoCo Sort & Report app: portcoquitlam.ca/sortreport At portcoquitlam.ca/waste (Waste Cart & Collection Info page) For more waste sorting and collection information, check out the Sort it Right flipguide at portcoquitlam.ca/sortitright.

5 A SUSTAINABLE APPROACH This calendar has been printed on FSC®-certified paper with at least 10% post-consumer recycled content. The calendars were also delivered to Port Coquitlam households in 100% biodegradable plastic bags. Please recycle this calendar at the end of 2022.
LOCK IT UP
SET IT OUT
• Secure attractants in a garage, shed, or with an approved cart lock. • Pick ripe fruit and berries. • Clean your barbecue after every use. • Keep pet food and bird seed out of reach.
• Only set out unlocked carts at the curb between 5:30-7:30 am on collection day [leave at least 1 m (3 ft) between carts]. • Secure them again by 7 pm.
About our 2022 calendar The theme of our 2022 calendar is once again Naturally PoCo, highlighting the beauty in the flowers, wildlife and landscapes that can be found in and around Port Coquitlam. All photos featured in the calendar were submitted by community shutterbugs. The cover image, entitled Morning Walk, was captured by Danielle Cooper along the scenic Traboulay PoCo Trail. We thank all contributors and will feature these and other submitted photos in City publications and portcoquitlam.ca/photos.

Try large item pickup to clear your clutter
Get the free Sort & Report app Port Coquitlam’s free Sort & Report app is a one-stop resource with a wide variety of uses. Sort waste on the go, report problems, get collection alerts and more! Download the app today to: • Properly sort your waste using the Sort it Right waste wizard • View or print your home’s personalized collection schedule • Set up collection reminders • Report a problem with any City service • Stay up-to-date about changes to the collection schedule or service • And more!
Did you know? Port Coquitlam households that receive City waste services and pay a garbage levy on their property tax bill receive free curbside pickup for up to six large items per year! A wide variety of large items are accepted, including mattresses, furniture, appliances, exercise equipment and more. Simply schedule your pickup and put out your items at the curb at your designated day and time (maximum three items per pickup). Requested by residents for many years, this program is helping to reduce illegal dumping and ensure discarded items are disposed of properly.
Learn more and schedule your pickup: portcoquitlam.ca/largeitem
Don’t be a
wishcycler! Do you put things in the recycling bin without knowing they can be recycled? When you wishcycle, more goes to the landfill. Wishcycling can also lead to expensive fines for the City, driving up costs that are passed on to taxpayers.
