Hip Hop

Get your dance on! Build endurance, flexibility, strength, and balance. Have fun breaking a sweat while learning the energetic style of hip hop dance. Focus on rhythm, musicality, basic footwork, modern choreography, smooth moves, and more. Students have the option to perform in the MAC Spring Dance Recital on Thursday, June 1 at 7:00pm.

Theatre Classes

Theatre classes develop confidence and self-expression through fully inhabited voices and bodies, clear communication, and presentation. Focus, commitment, empathy and listening, teamwork and leadership and a feeling of community. Student/teacher ratios are kept low to ensure everyone receives the attention they need. A high priority is placed on creating a trusting ensemble and a safe environment for courageously exploring theatrical expression.

Sea and Space Escapades

Age 4–7

From the Mariana Trench to the Milky Way, calling all budding oceanographers and astronauts to act out stories and create art projects featuring exploration of sea and space. New adventures await.

Summer is here and school is out! Unfortunately, there’s no summer vacation for our young wizards. They’ll be attending mandatory summer school with a strange new professor. They’ll be studying non-magical humans and it’s forbidden to use magic. As usual, there’s a battle of good versus evil, but this time wands are not allowed!

This production class concludes with a fully-staged performance for family and friends on the last day of class—June 6 at 7:00pm. Student attendance is required at all rehearsals and the performance.

Studio Theatre: Alice’s Adventures Underground

Age 13–20

Down the rabbit hole and through the looking glass. What begins as a lazy afternoon in the park turns into a surreal adventure of epic proportion. This is the story of the real Alice and her sisters who suddenly find themselves in Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland. Beware the Jabberwocky! This fully staged theatre production has a part for the shy first-timer and the seasoned young professional. Student attendance is required at all rehearsals and performances.

Adult Acting Basics

Age 18 & up

Anyone can benefit from the skills actors use to help build confidence and strengthen communication skills in everyday life. Through theatre games and short scene work, reveal the natural actor inside you, and strengthen skills you can use at work and school, from giving presentations to working with clients. Stimulate the imagination, spark creativity, learn to have fun and relax while thinking on your feet and navigating new situations; this class will energize, challenge, inspire and surprise you! For those who would like to participate, there will be a presentation on the last day of class.
