Prerequisite: There is no skill level assessment required to participate in this program, but you must be able to walk a 25-minute mile without shortness of breath. Sturdy footwear required.
Hike Ratings
Easy: Trails are essentially level or with limited elevation change with well-defined solid surfaces.
Moderate: Trails have modest elevation changes over short distances with surfaces consisting of pavement, packed gravel, or dirt with a limited number of footing obstacles such as rocks, roots, or fallen logs.
Difficult: Trails may have substantive elevation changes over long distances with surfaces consisting of pavement, packed gravel, or dirt with possibly numerous footing obstacles such as rocks, roots, or fallen logs.
Icon identifies hikes that are accessible by public transit.

Tualatin Hills Nature Park Beaverton, OR Easy 1151778
The Tualatin Hills Nature Park is a 222-acre nature park and wildlife preserve with shady woods. There are approximately 3.5 miles of well-maintained trails, 1.5 miles are paved. Restrooms available.

Powell Butte Nature Park

Abundant wildlife populates the park, including rabbits, ring-necked pheasants, ground squirrels, raccoons, gray foxes, skunks, bats, chipmunks, coyotes, and black-tailed mule deer. The park is home to many birds of prey with its open meadows, groves of wild hawthorn trees, forested slopes of Western red cedar, and wetlands near Johnson Creek. Restrooms available at meeting location.

A forested oasis, Mount Talbert towers above busy roads, shopping centers, and neighborhoods in Clackamas. Trails are forest floor and paved. Restrooms available. Level 2 Qualifier.
5/1 Kelly Point Park N Portland Easy 1151782
Bound by the Columbia Slough on the south, the Willamette River on the west, and the Columbia River on the north, Kelly Point Park forms the tip of the peninsula at the confluence of the rivers. Restrooms available.
5/8 Balch Creek to Audubon Society Portland, OR Moderate 1151783
The trail through Lower Macleay leads into the forested depths of Balch Canyon, to the Audubon Society and Forest Park. Walk along the creek and up through the woods. Terrain is steep on unpaved paths and can be muddy; hiking poles and boots suggested. Restrooms available.
5/15 Latourell Falls Columbia Gorge Difficult 1151784
Trail is steep, rocky in places, with paved and gravel paths, stone stairs, and forest floor. The trail climbs uphill to Upper Latourell Falls and loops back downstream to a nice viewpoint of the Columbia River. PLEASE NOTE: 520' elevation gain. Please wear hiking boots on this walk. Restrooms available. Level 2 Qualifier.
5/22 Sandy River Delta Troutdale, OR Easy 1151785
This trail includes a 1.1 mile accessible on-leash compact gravel trail to the Sandy River Confluence bird blind site. Restrooms at parking lot. Pay the $5 parking fee online at recreation.gov. Those with Federal Senior Recreation Pass get in free.

The Marquam Trail to Council Crest Hike Trail is a 3.1 mile forested out and back trail that will take you to Portland’s highest point with spectacular views of the city skyline with Cascade Mountain peaks as a backdrop. Restrooms available at meeting location. Level 2 Qualifier.
6/12 Newell Creek Canyon Nature
Oregon City, OR Moderate 1151787 Park
Explore tree-lined paths with breathtaking views of creeks and falls. The picnic area, canopied by bigleaf maple, is accessible and close to restrooms and parking. If you’re watching for wildlife, you might see beavers, red fox, and black-tailed deer, along with pileated woodpeckers and cottontail rabbits. Restrooms available at meeting location.
