Ballet—Beginning

Age 13 & up

This is a beginning level Ballet class: A classically structured ballet class for motivated beginners. Focused training in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Discover your inner grace by immersing yourself in this classic form. Learn or review ballet basics and work on flexibility, strength, and alignment. Build or rebuild a solid foundation of technique, placement, and terminology as you incorporate barre, center practice, adage, and allegro. Students have the option to perform in the MAC Spring Dance Recital on Thursday, June 1 at 7:00pm.

PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS YOUTH, TEEN & ADULT

Private music lessons are a great way to build discipline and take your music playing to the next level. Thrive with customized instruction as you build the skills and abilities necessary to express yourself through music.

Our faculty is comprised of professional teaching artists who are dedicated to personalized and highquality music education in a community setting. We have instructors offering instruction in: piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, flute, violin, viola, cello, woodwinds, percussion, and more.

Lessons are held weekly and run through the school year (October through early June). We are always accepting new applications as registration is ongoing and availability is built around current instructor schedules. Lessons are $28 per 30-minute lesson, with monthly and quarterly payment plan options available.

It’s musical playtime for kids! Develop self-expression, cognitive, social, and musical skills through songs, games, movement, and percussion play, while making friends along the way. Youth Group Guitar

Age 8–12

Experience the excitement of creating and making music as you learn about the basic foundational skills of playing guitar in a fun and welcoming group setting! Learn about chords, strumming, and music notation while getting to play songs and learn alongside other young musicians. No previous experience required. Student must bring their own guitar to class. *No class 5/29

Youth Piano Lab

Age 7–12

This class is perfect for the aspiring young musician who is brand new to piano. Students will be introduced to the core concepts necessary for building strong musicianship, including the grand staff, note values, and good hand technique. Learn how to play music on full-size pianos in a small group setting! *No class 5/29

This class uses: Primer Level - Lesson Book: Piano Adventures. Students are REQUIRED to purchase and bring their book to each class. Students must have access to a piano/keyboard at home and are expected to practice.

Youth Group Ukulele

Age 8–12

Dive into creating music with this introductory ukulele class. Ukuleles are user-friendly and easy to learn! Learn about basic music theory, building chords, and developing rhythm, all while getting to play songs with others in this fun group setting. Perfect for beginners! No previous experience required. Student must bring their own ukulele to class.

Youth Choir

Age 8–12

This group is designed for young singers of all levels! Develop excellent vocal techniques as you learn how to read music and practice proper care for your voice. Students will be introduced to singing in a group environment and learn a variety of fun songs! A small performance for families will be held during the end of the last class on June 10 in the Multnomah Arts Center Auditorium.

Price includes a $10 materials fee which covers sheet music that students keep. Materials fee is non-refundable after the first class. Total price including materials fee is $125.
