Bocce Ball

Learn to play Bocce in this four-week series of lessons! Bocce is easy to learn and fun for all ages, genders, and abilities. The modern game of Bocce has its roots in Ancient Rome and was brought to the U.S. by Italian immigrants. The rules are simple: Competing players roll balls on a court to land closest to a smaller target ball, the “pallino.” The closest ball wins! The game can be played by singles, doubles, or teams of four.

Experience the Butterfly Park Naturescape

7720 S Macadam Avenue, Portland

This small area of undeveloped Willamette River shoreline is a good example of the natural environment of the river. The area features deciduous woodland planted for butterflies and insects. It was named 'butterfly' for its importance as a habitat for butterflies, such as mourning cloaks and orange sulphurs.
