LAST MATCH RECAP Behind two first-half goals, the Portland Timbers defeated Cascadia-rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2-1 before a sold-out crowd of 21,144 fans at Providence Park on April 22. Midfielder Darlington Nagbe recorded a goal and an assist in the win, while forward Darren Mattocks scored his first goal of the season.
Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first six MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
