LAST MATCH RECAP The Portland Timbers battled the Montreal Impact to a 1-1 draw before a sold-out crowd of 21,144 fans at Providence Park on July 13, extending their unbeaten streak to eight games in league play. Producing five shots in the first half, the Timbers (6-6-8, 26pts) opened the scoring in the 14th minute of play when forward Jack McInerney notched his fifth goal of the season, heading midfielder Jack Jewsbury’s corner kick into the back of the net after battling to win an aerial duel inside the six-yard box.
Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first six MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
