LAST MATCH RECAP The Portland Timbers defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 before 12,769 fans at Providence Park in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on June 6, advancing to the Round of 16 for the fifth time in the last six seasons. Forward Jeremy Ebobisse and midfielder Dairon Asprilla tallied a goal apiece.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first eight MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
