LAST MATCH RECAP Kicking off a three-game road swing, the Timbers utilized a strong second-half performance, receiving the game-winning goal from midfielder Diego Valeri and the opening goal from defender Nat Borchers to earn a 2-1 win against the Montreal Impact in front of 13,020 fans at Stade Saputo on May 9. Valeri, who made his first start of the 2015 season on Saturday, provided Portland with what would stand as the game-winning goal in the 70th minute. Minutes before Valeri’s goal, Borchers opened the scoring for Portland in the 64th minute as the Impact failed to successfully clear a Timbers corner kick.
Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first four MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
