NO PLACE LIKE HOME LAST MATCH RECAP After battling to a 2-2 draw through regulation and two, 15-minute halves of extra time, the Timbers advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals with a dramatic, 7-6 win on penalty kicks against Sporting Kansas City in the Knockout Round of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs in front of a sellout crowd of 21,144 fans at Providence Park on Thursday night. Midfielder Rodney Wallace scored in the 57th minute and forward Maxi Urruti tallied the game-tying goal for Portland in the 118th minute, sending the game to penalty kicks where it lasted for 11 rounds, the longest in MLS Cup Playoff history.

Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first four MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
