LAST MATCH RECAP Recording a 15-7 advantage in shots, including a 5-2 edge on goal, the Timbers registered their league-leading 13th shutout of the season in a 1-0 road win against Western Conference foe Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night in front of 19,457 fans at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. Forward Fanendo Adi converted a penalty kick in the 54th minute for the deciding goal as Portland moved into a tie on points (47) with Seattle for fifth place in the Western Conference.
Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first four MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
