LAST MATCH RECAP The Portland Timbers defeated Orlando City SC 3-0 before a sold-out crowd of 21,144 fans at Providence Park on Sunday night, with the team winning its fourth straight home game since Aug. 6. Diego Valeri scored a brace in the win, becoming the first midfielder in MLS history to score 20 goals in a season.
Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out all of its regular-season home games in the team’s first six MLS seasons. Spanning the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak (12-0-10) at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014. The streak ranks as the third-longest all-time in MLS history.
